Italian spam now carries risk of jail time

Not sure how many people here are interested in this, but I'm curious if a similar kind of thing could be instituted stateside - or if it could even be enforced in Italy (with offshore spam accounts coming in, I'm sure). I like the thinking behind it, but I'm not sure how effective it would be.

Hey this is awesome news. I guess the Italians have finally taken care of that Mafia problem and can now devote their time to silly things like unwanted Email.

'But if one is struck by me only a little, that is far different, the stroke is a sharp thing and suddenly lays him lifeless, and that man's wife goes with cheeks torn in lamentation, and his children are fatherless, while he, staining the soil with his red blood, rots away, and there are more birds than women swarming about him.' You know, you could make a case that Spamming is a far more prevalant, all-reaching problem which effects the day to day lives of many more people than Mafia activity. Maybe that's the Chicagoan in me speaking but the fact that Mob exists doesn't really bother me any, but I sure do hate spam. The email that is...i love the meat by-product Spam.

hey there's something I whole heartedly agree with you on. SPAM f'ing RULES!!! And now that football season is upon us, I look forward to getting up on a cold Sunday morning, brewing a huge mug of hot tea, and having a couple sandwiches of delicious golden browned spam on soft fresh Wonder bread. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Now THAT'S Good Eatin!

I'm more amazed that somebody called the widower. It's stupid harmless last words. Geez, burn in hell? That's a bit harsh. I hope that guy gets hit by a bus on his way to the polls.
