The article is a bit long, with some emails thrown in at the end. Here is Simmons first mention of it...
"During a New York radio interview Monday, Isiah Thomas threatened to make trouble for me. Talking to Stephen A. Smith he said, "I'm gonna tell ya ... if I see this guy Bill Simmons, oh, it's gonna be a problem with me and him ..." I thought it was ironic he threatened me on Martin Luther King Jr. Day -- I'm sure MLK would have been proud. Given that this was the same guy who sucker-punched his best friend on the Pistons (Bill Laimbeer) during the 1992 season, I am thinking about travelling with a full-time bodyguard, or at the very least a can of mace or one of those tasers that you can get in a stalker catalog. The guy who has made a career out of whining is whining because a sportswriter dared criticize him for having done a spectacularly bad job. Oh well, it's not like anyone thought Zeke is, was, or ever will be a class act.

I think the team has a ton of potential to make a mini run this year at the playoffs and be a fixture there for a couple of years. I am no way saying they a championship coliber team, but in a watered down Eastern Conference, they should be a 6-8 lock for a couple of years. Marbury, Curry, Crawford, Frye, Lee and Robinson give them a good young nucleus to work with. A Brown will get the most out of this team. However, if Zeke continues to run this team like he ran the CBA, then I will have to take a sabatical until he is gone. Hopefully, that is sooner than later.

Smith would get dibs since the spark occured on his show, but Dan Patrick would have the discipline to keep it civilized.

Nope. But it appears he has been accused of sexual harrassment. Man, this guy is not having a good 21st century....
