There's is of course one problem with this. The FWA is in Portsmouth that maybe a bit far away for some people
It's very good though and man some of those guys are young And able to crazy shit as well from looking at the Video clips.
Does anyone know whether there are any other schools although FWA did say they are thinking of extension

A friend of mine from back home who's training right now said that taking a few A/V classes or broadcasting classes was one of the biggest helps he's had as far as how to handle the outside of the ring stuff...the idea being it helps you learn the recorded inflections of your own voice as well as practice as to how to stand in front of a camera and talk or just being filmed in general.

Most wrestling schools do let you try to cut promos as part of training, but if you already know how to look at the camera and talk as if the camera isn't there (which sometimes isn't easy) you'll be one step ahead of everyone else and can focus more on the details rather than the technique.

You know what, it's a great dream, but like others have said, wait till your a bit older and see if it's what you really like. Are you going to be doing the RVD/Jeff Hardy style of wrestling? If so, I advise against it. At that age, everything is easier because of your youth and fearlessness but know that wrestling is a dangerous business. There are over 3000 known indy wrestlers in the indy circuit today. What do you possess that is unique and you? What will make you stand out to the promoters and especially Vince? Vince is hard to please. Look as Spanky, such a talented wrestler. The guy could do a standing shooting star press and was trained by HBK and he was still canned. Wrestling isn't really what it seems and the injuries involved might not be worth it. Do you have a passion? Work like crazy in the indy scene and live off every paycheck for maybe 8-10 years, and then, and only then, might Vince call you for a job. Look @ Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit. Both worked in Mexico, Japan, and the US indy scene for like 6 years before breaking into the big two (WCW and WWF/E). The only question is, do you have that kind of passion and desire? Working over 200 days a year without seeing your family? Loneliness in a motel room without seeing your wife or kids and not getting to see your kids grow up? That's a wrestler's life. Take it for what it's worth and if you still want to be a wrestler, just stay healthy and athletic for another 4 years. Then at 19 or 20, make your decision.

Thats bullshit dude. You dont NEED steroids to get big. You need to know what you are doing in the gym, eat the right things, and not do stupid shit which hinders you from being healthy overall (ie excessive drinking, any drugs, smoking, partying all night, etc, not straining yourself, etc).

You forgot about how he is supposed to be working out so much when he's running out of one booking to drive 400 miles to the next one. How are you supposed to stay in shape when everything's take-out food and poor sleeping? I know it's the polically correct thing to say "Drugs are bad, mkay?" but this guy wanted to know the truth about getting started, so no point lying to him right off the top.

Realistically, once you're done the 'working once a month' route, and have moved on to getting somewhat steady bookings, you'll need the steriods to get big, and then win you win the lottery and you've got someone's attention in the WWE, you can get a more consistant schedule to build around.

Echoing some of the previous advice --

* Get a college degree in something that you can fall back on if your wrestling career doesn't set you up for life. At the very least, study business, accounting, economics, law, etc. so that you can manage your personal finances.

* Take some acting classes. It's one of the biggest differences between mediocre and great workers when they break into the business. The ability to cut a promo and sell are largely dramatic techniques that can be learned outside of the ring.

* Commit to a workout regime that a normal person wouldn't even think of. The first thing to focus on is cardio. Unless you have the cardio development in place, you'll never get past the first day in a wrestling school. You can build muscle and tone your body later, but unless you have the stamina, you'll drop out quickly.

* Save your money. Don't fall for these wrestling schools that want all your money up front. Get them on a pay-as-you-go type plan, so you won't drop several thousand dollars and then realize you've been scammed. Make sure you talk to people who've been in the school and find out the reputation of the instructors.

* Videotape everything you do -- every match, every promo, everything. The best way to improve is to watch yourself and critique what you see. This also gives you material to send to promoters and organizations to get yourself booked.

* Buy some real wrestling gear. Real boots, not gym shows. Real tights or trunks, not cut-off jean shorts. If you want to be a real wrestler, then look like it.

* Take any gig that you can, even if they don't pay you. The only way to get well known is to be out there meeting people and working shows. This means taking tickets, setting up the ring, working security, etc., etc. So many wrestlers got their break when someone on the same card no-showed and the promoter needed to fill that hole. You can't fill that hole unless you're willing to be there, even at your own expense.

* Treat everyone you meet with respect. The road to success is littered with the bodies of rude, arrogant, self-indulgent wrestlers who rubbed too many people the wrong way. The people you meet on the way up are the same ones you meet on the way down.

* Stay off drugs. All drugs, legal and illegal. No pot, no coke, no steroids, no alcohol, no cigs, nothing. How many wrestlers have been mourned on this board because they passed away in their prime? It's not worth it. Plus, all these addictions have pricetags, and you can't afford to be wasting money on a wrestler's salary.

There ... now go be a superstar!

I think JR's even hinted at that Frosty. However, he's also said he's not leaving anytime soon. As for JR, I don't think he has a lot to do with the creative part of the company, so I don't really blame him for this stuff.
