Considering I didn't want Undertaker to win the Rumble, I wanted the Hardys thing to get some sort of resolution here, and Maven shouldn't have been in there very long, I think the segment was pretty good.

And Ross was stressing that Maven was gone from the segment because he couldn't continue. So I guess technically there's a second way to be eliminated from the Rumble.

There is history supporting both thoughts that Maven is still in the Rumble, or eliminated...

In 1993, Giant Gonzalez pitched the Undertaker out of the ring, even though he wasn't in the match.

In 1997, Ahmed Johnson eliminated Faarooq even though he'd been eliminated WAAAY earlier in the evening.

In 1996, Vader eliminated Shawn Michaels, but because Vader had already been eliminated, it didn't count.

So, basically, it's whatever the WWF feels like doing.

And, sorry, but I'm PISSED that once again, the Undertaker gets booked to look great at the expense of people he needs to put over. Mark, here's a clue, YOU'RE OLD AND IT'S TIME FOR YOU TO START DOING JOBS. If Matt and Jeff had eliminated The Undertaker, it would have done HUGE things for them. Instead, they got pitched by the Undertaker twice, then Maven gets a fluke elimination that nobody takes seriously, THEN he gets beaten up for like ten minutes. OH, and BY THE WAY, didn't anyone notice that PROFESSIONAL FUCKING IDIOT blade Maven right on camera? I saw the blade in his hand, and him tucking it back in his pocket. Christ, Flair was RIGHT THERE, you couldn't ask him for advice?

UT needs to do a job for somebody, ANYBODY. They almost had the right idea when they did The Big Show/UT match at Smackdown a few weeks ago, but he wouldn't lay down or sell for HIM then, either. And I'm not fan of the Big Show, but he's at least different and I can't even remember the last time the Undertaker did a job and he's gotta start doing them soon. The WWF is worried about not having enough main eventers for the promotion split... here's an idea, but someone over UT. THERE'S A NEW MAIN EVENTER.

And isn't the Undertaker supposed to be a heel? If they want him to be a heel, it would be a hell of a lot eaier to get him there if they'd get rid of the Limp Bizkit entrance music and motorcycle. Hell, have him come out to Celine Dion or Opera or something. The crowd will turn on him LIKE THAT.

I hate the Undertaker. There. I'm done.

I recall Flair doing a pretty hideous (as in, obvious) blade job at Starrcade 86 against Nikita. So maybe Maven shoulda been asking someone else.

Is an obvious blade always the fault of the wrestler?
He might have his face turned away from the crowd only to have the camera man sticking his camera in his face..

And for those that look for those kinda things blade jobs are obvious at least 75% of the time..

Look, the WWF has a easy way to elevate Maven. Have him constantly try to attack Taker at every chance he gets. Of course Taker beats him to death nearly each time. But give Maven just 1 upset win. Everyone goes crazy. It's cheesy but I think it can work. He can be the Mikey Whipwreck of the 21st century...or is that Spike?

joecollins, the Undertakers gimmickis supposed to be a crazy old man right now, right? So he goes nuts after getting eliminated by the rookie, and beats the holy hell outta him. And you're pissed because Maven got destroyed? Should a man that has been the constant in the Fed over the past decade get his ass handed to him by a man that has basically been a wrestler for what- 6 months? I dont think so. Ok, UT doesn't job enough - but jobbing to Maven in the Rumble is a good thing for the rookie, and now he (Maven) will get heat (sympathetic heat, but heat none the less) from the stomping he took.

Maven's heat will only get bigger and better if he would return asap (raw? smackdown?) to attack the Taker.
If he disappears after that it's alright, but people will be like 'wow, this guy doesn't back down!'

Has he even been wrestling in the OVW/HWA anyways?

I was thinking mabey Maven could cut a promo saying he should be going to Mania (or at least a match w/ HHH). His request is denied for what ever reason you want (he's green, he's injured, he's a transvestite...) He can use this angle in whatever fed he's in, Ohio ,Puerto Rico it doesnt matter. Every time he comes in he could say I should be Main Eventing Wrestlemania.

This would work nice if he does eventualy end up being a decent wrestler and returning to the WWF full time. Honestly I did not think they were gonna use the Tough Enough winner(s) this much. Although Ive only see Nidea twice and she didnt wrestle either time

Yeah, I saw the blade job. I was thinking "Oh no, its New Jack and that fat kid all over again." So at least he wasnt bleeding like a pig.

Getting caught blading on camera is the fault of the director in the truck, not of the wrestlers at hand. Undertaker cannot just magically make the thing vanish into midair.

Joecollins I'm not understanding your logic here.

Undertaker owns HIS yard for what 10-15 minutes throwing out everyone, then along comes this green newbie who eliminates him while his back is turned. It would have been totally lame for him to just walk to the back, instead he played his angle..he made Maven respect him by giving him the beating of his life. And if Maven had lied on the ground covering his face with his arms and then bladed it probably would have been too obvious that he bladed still.
UT did a cool thing for Maven last night..You argue that he squashed him by giving him that huge beatdown..but look at how all the boards are afire with Maven talk, if they continue a storyline here Maven's over..and he has UT to thank for it.

I don't know that I would call Undertaker a class act, but after getting eliminated by some nobody I justify him getting to beat the living crap out of him and I agree that it fits his character/gimmick.

As for Maven, Lance Storm said a couple of weeks ago if we able to train Maven for a while he could make him a bad wrestler (and he was saying that that would be an improvement from what he is now). Not that Maven isn't skilled or has talent, but that he just doesn't know much yet. So i'm not crazy about the idea of him getting a push or starting a feud with anyone. I don't see why they couldn't use someone like Hurricane, Val, Raven to beat Undertaker.

UT needs to do a job for somebody, ANYBODY.

I don't know about you, but letting yourself be eliminated by MAVEN is pretty damn gracious - even if he did get to beat the crap out of him afterwards. That was an awesome piece of business.
