Now that he's got the IC belt, please let them ditch the Highlight Reel (whose icon looks too similar to the Simon System logo) and just give him mic time while he feuds with whomever.

No absolutly not! He can't get rid of the Highlight Reel, it's the best feature on Raw. It's given us such classic moments as "Nashhole!" and "Stone Cold Steve A**clown" and let us not forget, the fact that Matt Hardy debuted on Raw on the Highlight reel. But the real highlight (see what I did there) is that Jericho didn't get shipped down to the midcard, he's bringing the midcard up a notch!
And yes it does look similar to the Simon System logo.

It's like Jericho's badge of honor-he's the only midcarder who's awesome enough to have his own talk show. Plus the segments are invariably very very entertaining, and make for an easy excuse to have people talk about current wrestling-related issues 'n' stuff.
Once upon a time in China, some believe, around the year one double-ought three, head priest of the White Lotus Clan, Pai Mei was walking down the road, contemplating whatever it is that a man of Pai Mei's infinite power contemplates - which is another way of saying "who knows" - when a Shaolin monk appeared, traveling in the opposite direction. As the monk and the priest crossed paths, Pai Mei, in a practically unfathomable display of generosity, gave the monk the slightest of nods. The nod was not returned. Now was it the intention of the Shaolin monk to insult Pai Mei or did he just fail to see the generous social gesture? The motives of the monk remain unknown. What is known, are the consequences. The next morning Pai Mei appeared at the Shaolin Temple and demanded of the Temple's head abbot that he offer Pai Mei his neck to repay the insult. The Abbot at first tried to console Pai Mei, only to find Pai Mei was inconsolable. So began the massacre of the Shaolin Temple and all 60 of the monks inside at the fists of the White Lotus. And so began the legend of Pai Mei's five point palm exploding heart technique. | BigVitoMark

They always end in pullaparts; sometimes they launch a rivalry, other times only a one-shot match, but it's still valuable either way. It gives guys a chance to talk and set up their own issues.

There’s only one way for Chris ….. down. There's no one to blame. Why didn't Chris pick on HHH instead of Goldberg? We all know the answer. Chris wants to score points with the office. But the shits on now....

He didn't need Stephanie, they saddled him with Stephanie.
As for the "run", they booked him like a JTTS forever, and all of a sudden they have him beat Rock, then Austin and Rock on the same night to make him champion. No real build, and the hype for the Vengeance PPV where he got the two big wins was all to make him look like crap so they'd have readymade challengers, as if they needed real good reasons to put Rock and Austin in as PPV title challengers at any point.
His title win merely made him a lame duck, transitional champion over to Helmsley, and that, along with the asinine build-up for the WrestleMania main event, was what did that reign (and that match) in, not the fact that Chris Jericho is short.

I never thought the short thing matter since, Shawn, Austin and Bret were better champs than Sid, Warrior or Taker depending on the year. Jericho is the most over face on run, however he has a ton of guys ahead of him like Orton, Benoit, Shelton and Shawn to get the title. I do think they need to implant some more faces on Smackdown, so it wouldn't shock me to see one or two of those guys get traded soon.
Jericho was a great champ and the fact that he beat Rock and Austin on the same night, solidified his spot. He did a good job as heel champ, but how interesting is a title run when in January, you knew they were going to through the belt on HHH at Wrestlemania. I felt bad for Jerciho being trapped in the Steph/HHH fued instead of getting a fued for himself for probably his only Wrestlemania main event. Jericho could be a good champ again, but it will require HHH laying down for him which has never happened. If anything needs to be done in the future, its HHH getting a year long injury again. | ScottLadd
