Could the WWE be making Judgement day bad on purpose so that Bad Blood looks better by comparison? or at least saving the matches that will draw for the PPVs that really need them.

I wonder if you're right. A lot of the matches they could have done -- you know, matches people want to see -- they're probably saving for Bad Blood and beyond. Even the SmackDown side of things stinks.

Wait, a PPV that has Kevin Nash as a face in a city where he will be boo-ed (Flair's in the other corner, figure out who gets the face pop), Test booked in two out of four matches, and Jackie working in a place that is not in Texas is deemed as crap on the RAW side? Come on, crap doesn't deserve to be insulted in such a manner. This might make the Degeneration X PPV seem like a high buyrate and high quality evening by comparison.

Convenient conspiracy theory.
Are you telling me that Steiner, Nash and Goldberg were all brought in (at some needless expense) as some kind of de-enhancement talent, in order to purposely stink up the joint so split PPVs look like a good idea? The old guard has returned and are being pushed into positions to justify their pay packets. Give this a couple of months and there'll be some figures in WWE that should teach them another in a seemingly endless set of lessons.

No Benoit, no Mysterio, no Mattitude, no Cena (and where was he last month?). These are all guys with a decent amount of heat and could be drawing something. RAW talent has flooded Judgment Day this time around, especially in the IC battle royal, and while it'll actually be a nice change in some ways, they do have Bad Blood for that.

Oh come on. Your telling me people DON'T want to see Steiner/Test v. La Resistance. Your crazy, I tell you. CRAZY!

EDIT: Just a side note- the Judgment Day website has Big Show/Brock Lesnar at the top of the list, hinting that that match will go on last.

Geez, Show/Lesnar or Hunter/Nash. Which is the lesser of two evils there?!?

Am I the only person interested in Judgement Day? I'd want to see it for Team Angle and Los Guerreros in a ladder match alone, but several other matches actually intrigue me. I honestly couldn't care less how the IC title is booked, I'm just happy it is back. I may not be a bitter husk of a fan like some, but I tend to go in with positive assumptions and let the wrestling do the talking rather than crap on the product before it has actually aired.
Of course something like this is said for every show and there will always be people who are never satisfied, so feel free to Flame On.

Lesser of two evils? Definitely Show/Brock... their match last year wasn't bad for a big man match, and seeing Lesnar F5 the Big Show still gives me chills...

On the other hand - HHH/Nash? Thanks, but I think I'll pass.

I'll second on the Show/Lesnar deal; if the two go all-out psycho to fit the Stretcher gimmick then it could most definitely be worthwhile. of course, being in the Uck we get the majority of monthlies free. I wouldn't be paying for the show if it were on Sky Box Office.

it looks like it's just a show that is marred by yet another transition period that the WWE is in....

I remember going to a House Show in 96' or 97' and I watched a Stretcher match between Sid and Vader, and if Brock/ Big Show is anything like this than be afraid, but Brock can go and I like Big Show. I think if he works like he did when he fought the Undertaker at No Way Out, this could actually be an alright match.

Holy crap! I never even thought of that. Ric Flair is in HHH's corner - WTF? How does Nash even have a prayer of being the face?

Wow, you know, it might just be worth ordering the PPV just to laugh at Nash/HHH.

There's one thing I'm trying to figure out, though.

How will they explain Bad Blood being Raw-only? Will they?

The question is why are they going to bother with the RAW-only PPV's? The need to end the split ASAP.

I don't know . . . I'm kinda hoping they go through with it just long enough to show them how shi++y the product is right now. Vince has money, so they're not going out of business as fast as most people would predict.

I'm also interested to see how they flesh out a 3-hr PPV without Smackdown - in a perverse car-wreck sorta way.

Heck it'll be the most entertaining thing WWE has done in months.

I guess but I would rather watch quality matches and angles then to just laugh at the WWE's self-destruction. Maybe Nash will tear or break something that's always good for a laugh.

Raw-only PPv's might not actually be that bad. If you look at the JD PPV, then it has most of the bad wrestlers on it (Nash, Steiner), and a full PPV of Raw could have genuinely interesting matches which utilize lower and middle card wrestlers more such as Steven Richards, Hurricane, Nowinski etc. It can also give longer time to build up convincing, interesting fueds.

Then again...

Now can u dig that

There's nothing wrong with the split. If they join the rosters again, guys like the Hurricane will lose the little time they get on-screen now. It will be Triple H and Hogan on every show, not just alternating, and the hosses will run wild.

Joining the rosters again would be a disaster right now, after how much time and effort they've spent making Raw and Smackdown two seperate entities.

As for the Raw-only PPV, you don't even know what the card is yet, so don't fucking bitch until you know what you're bitching about. The Raw roster is easily big enough to carry a PPV, especially with the return of the IC title. If Smackdown gets the US Title, then the brand-exclusive PPVs will be worth watching. I think it's a much better idea to have PPVs split, so each brand has two months to work up to it's blowoff, and we'll get storylines that aren't whipped up in three weeks just to make a match for a PPV. No one cares about Steiner and Test vs. La resistance, but they might have if the angle was allowed to go on for longer than two weeks.

I'm all for the brand split, and split PPVs. They should have done that months ago. Why don't you wait and see before you automatically decide it's going to be shitty?

We'll see what they can do with the split PPV's but with the recent lineups for Backlash and now Judgment Day, I don't think they can pull it off.

Personally, I think it's going to be tough for the PPV to come across as anything more then a glorified edition of the TV show.

I also think that it comes across to casual fans as though they can skip these RAW only and Smackdown only ones and just buy the joint PPV's. We'll see but that's just how I see it coming across to the casual fan.

I'm still in favor of a scenario where, at one point in the card, there's a bench-clearing brawl between the two `brands'. Then Linda McMahon can announce that Raw and SmackDown can no longer co-exist and have to be forced into separate PPV's.

But of course, they won't end up explaining it at all.

"The Rock also knows damn well, what in recent years the WCW Title has come to... Diamond Dallas Page? Booker T? The guy from Scream 2, the dog from Married with Children, the maid from the Jeffersons! Shane McMahon, this title is just like your sister, everybody gets a turn!"

God forbid I express my opinion about how I feel something will turn out on an opinion board. Didn't I say I was gonna tune in to see it? It's not like I've written it off without seeing it - I just made a prediction, that's all. If I turn out to be wrong, I'll *gladly* admit it. Gladly.

In addition, I know RAW has a roster big enough to fill two PPV's - it's not the roster I'm concerned about. Creative can't come up with any interesting midcard storylines right now - (witness: Dudleys vs. Bischoff, Three Minute Warning, IC Battle Royal, Steiner/Test vs. La Resistance, Fatal-4-Way womens title zzzzzzz. . . ) what makes you think they can create interest in a PPV top to bottom w/o Smackdown main events to help? I mean, look - there's two title matches in that list I mentioned right there. Neither one of them have any buildup whatsoever - they don't care enough about the IC title to do anything meaningful with it other than just throw a bunch of guys in the ring and get it over with. They have the most talented roster of women they have ever had and they can't even come up with anything compelling for them to do so they just throw them all in one match and call it 'done.' Whoopee. Pay them now.

The fact that they will have twice as many weeks means nothing because they also will have twice as many matches to produce. If they writers were showing promise right now I'd think differently, but we haven't seen any reason to believe that these guys even have the potential to write good stuff - so why should I think otherwise?

In addition to that - there's a big difference between having a big roster and having a roster full of draws. RAW is NOT a roster full of draws. Goldberg, maybe. Who else?? Jericho? Well, he's fun, but I would not call him a draw.
People do not tune in to see HHH, Shawn, Nash, Steiner - I think that's been proven by now.

To repeat (so that you don't miss this salient point): I AM GOING TO WATCH. I just made a prediction, that's all - and I'm allowed to do that. Regardless, I'll make sure to check with you next time to see if it's OK if I can "fucking bitch" about something before I "fucking bitch" about it. I didn't think I was "fucking bitching," but then, you never know I guess.

(And No, people would not have cared about Steiner/Test vs. La Resistance if it had more time, because one half of that equation is STEINER/TEST. The other half sucks, too, just not as gloriously. Cheap heat or no, if you are that dry and vanilla, you are gonna be boring.)
