From Rajah.com:

WWE recently filed trademark applications for the terms "Future Endeavored," "Future Endeavor" and Mr. Future Endeavor." The terms are for John Laurinaitis' on-screen character.

So they're making an over-the-top character about how he gets to fire people? Is it me, or is that likely to rub the people who've been actually "future endeavored" the wrong way? Seems to be adding insult to injury.

Whatever rubbing the wrong way that causes, you have to assume that these fired people are equally pleased that they're actually being referenced on TV now by CM Punk, with their cause being spoken for rather than simply vanishing and never being heard from again.

MVP disappeared without a trace when he was released last year, but this year Chris Masters is referenced in a promo a few days after his release bemoaning it as unfair and talking about how much he improved. I'd say that's worth having Johnny Ace get a "Mr. Future Endeavour" nickname to him.

Uh, MVP asked to be released, he wanted to go to Japan.

I will only accept this for John Laurinaitis if the Mr. Future Endeavor character consists of a mask and feathery boa, ala Mr. America or Blue Blazer.

I recall TNA announcers using this phrase in the past. I wonder if this will prevent TNA from using it in that context, or if TNA's use will prevent WWE from trademarking it.

From now on we can expect WWE.com release announcements to include TM symbols. That will be amusing.

I prefer to think that WWE is reviving the New Breed's old gimmick of a time-traveling tag team, under the new name of The Future Endeavours.

"It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone." --- Bart Giamatti, on baseball

I wouldn't call it low class as much as I would just call it plain stupid. I never liked the term 'Future Endeavored' or anything similar to that; just say the person is fired and get on with it.

In fact, if they're really doing this for Johnny Ace's character, why not just go with him sort of becoming the new Vince McMahon (since he's the one after McMahon's departure that is acting more pro-Vince than anybody) and reprising the "YOU'RE FIRED!!!!" bit? It's definitely easier and more intimidating on live TV than "We wish you well in your future endeavors".

I personally think he should go with the catch phase "Read my Fax" - and then fax "You're Fired" to the person.

There's plenty of good potential douchy spots that could be worked in here. Have a Fed-Ex guy walk in while someone is mid promo against Ace, etc.

I thought this had been covered here before, but I couldn't find it. Anyway, many years ago, HBO used to hold a show called the Young Comedians.
