I liked the crap back then better than the crap now, though. Stupid gimmicks are more entertaining that 20 minutes of Stephanie McMahon, asscrack or no asscrack.
Also, the crap now permeates the entire roster. Back then, it was just throwaway stuff that usually didn't involve the top stars or the major titles. I've quit watching RAW, and I never got to that point back '97. Well, I say I quit, but I just missed watching it last night, and didn't bother to tape it. And after reading the recaps, I'm glad I didn't. From now on it's just Sunday Night Heat for me.

hey what about WWF under Russo at the attitude era's peak? IMHO that was one of the worst periods of WWF tv ever, and the internet loved it. Everything the WWF did in 1999 was perfect as far as WWF goes. Russo left WWF and now according to everyone he sucks. Some people even started to say they disliked his WWF booking. Whatever. I didn't like Russo when he handled WWF or WCW and the bottom line is that he sucks.

That's a good point. Most boards I go to, it's all, "the brand extension should end because of ratings and what not". I do believe the goal, the main goal of the brand extension was to elevate more new guys.
