It all may seem very cruel and sadistic, which it is, but you're asking these people to go over there and kill other people. Most of them have to dehumanize the enemy. It's a little hard to ask all of them to see the bigger picture from combat.
That's supposed to be the job of their superiors. They're the ones who are supposed to keep these guys in line.
That is a very, very lame argument. Every soldier, EVERY soldier KNOWS he is in the army to kill people, or to provide support to those who do kill people. THey all go to the rifle range in boot camp. It isnt so that they can all see how weapons shoot so they can go hunting later in life, its because they are being trained to be able to kill the enemy. Thats what our military is for. Killing people. (Hate to make it that simplistic, but in reality, that is just about it) If they joined for a steady paycheck or not, they joined, and signed up for a job that involves killing people.
And, it isnt hard to ask them to see the bigger picture. These douchebags are from a Military Police company. For them to even suggest that they didnt know it was wrong to do this is utter bullshit. Blaming it on thier superiors is fucking weak. They all know better, each and every one of them. Its these guys who are supposed to keep themselves in line, not thier officers appointed over them.

And the "they aren't dead" argument is weak in a world of suicide bombers, martyrs, and jihads.
Amazing that someone who's from Iraqi Governing Council would say something so stupid, what a freakin tool. Who is he suppose to represent anyways? (don't bother answering) ... I do think they'd rather be killed by their own then being humiliated by an "unclean" American. You would think that someone at the Iraqi Council would know that and not underplay it. It's the problem with this whole takeover from the beginning they take western priorities and logic & think that people in that part of the world feels the same
