Do any other W's play much internet poker? I haven't seen anyone's W-name (or similar ones) at the site I normally play at, but I was curious if anyone played at PartyPoker or PokerStars and such.

A buddy of mine is a Sales/Marketing VP with True Poker, so I've been playing there for the past year or so.

This shows how silly I am, but I registered and everything at partypoker.net. I guess that I got cold feet (seeing as how I've never really played Texas Hold Em live or on the Net with "real" players) because I didn't go on any tables. I still plan on it, and I'm going to AC this weekend and I might play there. If I do that, then I will probably go on and try the partypoker tables (no real money obviously as I am not experienced enough yet).

I play as cdlawrence on Pokerstars and Poker Mountain, both for play money. I tried the real money games and got cleaned out. :D

I have a Mac, so the only site I can play at is Poker Room.

I used to play Empire and Party with some regularity, but not since the hard drive on that machine crashed.

I play from time to time on PartyPoker because I have a fondness for their Mini-Step tourneys. I buy into a Step 3, and have made it to the Step 5 tourney 3 times, { Sorry, you must be logged in to see this text! }

I seem to own the 20-player Sit & Go tourneys (play money) at True Poker, but just haven't had the courage to start spending any real coin.

I refuse to gamble online. The people running the sites can tell us all about how there's encryption this, security thaet...I still have doubts.

However, for fake money? Sure! Why not?

I've been interested in getting involved; and if there was a dedicated W room or W league, I'd be there in a second. Would anyone here take the initiative to get that going?

Oh, and can anyone recommend a play money poker site that works well with dialup?

I think I once tried playing the Yahoo! Games Hold'Em. It was okay for what it was. I do have a poker buddy who is always talking about how good or bad he does on one of those play sites. If anyone does set up a W room/league, count me among the interested.

I play all the time over at pokerpages.com for Bugsy Bonus Points and such. I am pretty sure I got the link to the site from the Cubs fan somehow (his site, I think), although I don't remember ever playing against him.

It is a fun time, and I like it. I have never gone in for real money but the tournaments are fun.

I play pretty much only at qogs.com, and it's all free but they have a game every night at 7:00 pm Pacific and it's $30 to the winner, with no entry fee except accumulated credits.

I play on PokerStars for fake money, just hold'em and limit omaha hilo, and I'm seriously considering attending the World Series next year for the LOHL events.

I actually tried to add just $25 of real money to play with, but apparently my Mastercard doesn't allow me to spend money on gambling websites. Frankly, as I would've likely lost it anyway, I'm not even annoyed at Mastercard playing Big Brother.

Matt Tracker: Waitress, I won't need this omelette after all, thanks.

Yea, I mentioned that site a couple times. I blame Hobbes.

I haven't played or been on that site in months, so I don't know if it's still good. But it sounds like it is?

I pretty much live on PartyPoker. I used to do TruePoker for the free money tables, but it was just too frustrating seeing people go all-in every 3 hands because they could always get more chips.

With PartyPoker I pretty much break even at the end of each week. Other than my first $100 (which I figured I would lose as a "learning expense") I've only had to put money in once since signing up. I don't play to make money, I just want a serious game with people better than the shmucks I play with on weekends.

Yup, ive been playing for a while now. I started with PartyPoker but put some money into it and got my account frozen and when i tried to ring their sucky customer service in the Bahamas or something I got talking to some moron who could barely speak english so I said forget it and havent gone back. I tried Pokerstars for a long time but have recently left because of the bad beats. Seriously there is something up with that software.

My current favourite is Full Tilt, where the pros play. I often watch Pros play there. My fav is Mike Matusow who i was watching play Phil Ivey in a $50/$100 cash game. Crazy pots.

I always thought about setting up a private W tournamentor game. The best bet is with PokerRoom where you can set up a single table private cash game (play chips). If anyone knows where you can do a private tournment please tell me. I will look around for for one myself. But if you want to do a cash game (with play chips) on PokerRoom for a maximum of 10 players, i will set up one.

I played on FullTilt a little bit a few months back, and my favorite online poker moment happened there. It's about 4AM, I'm playing a 3/6 at a 6-handed table, there's 2 other people left. Suddenly out of nowhere John Juanda pops up at our table (FTP has a bunch of pros under contract, so when they play they have their own personalized names and avatars). Suddenly the table fills, 40 people are watching, and I'm running bluffs at him for all I'm worth. I got him to call me "sneaky" which was the highlight of my week :)

LOL. Yeah, I hope to deposit some money down the line there. But the other night Chris 'Jesus' Ferguson was playing 8 play tables simultainiously. So I wont have to deposit to play with the pros.

I love chatting with them, I was talking with Andy Bloch for last couple of weeks and kept ribbing him on his card counting days and was chatting up the lovely Ms. Clonie Gowen and she was all over me. lol. But she was a cool chick. Everyone was saying ''Oh your hot'' and blah blah blah and I was there defending her and asking her sensible questions and she did talk to me the most so it was a fun night. Unfortunatley, she was on during Raw so I was there talking to her and then turing and like ''WTF Tatanka is back?'' So yeah that expierience and good software (They have RAZZ!) put Full Tilt to the top of my list.

I would definitely be interested in a W Poker table. As I stated earlier, I am definitely a novice at Texas Hold Em, but somehow I don't think you all will mind taking my money (play or otherwise). I would rather start with play money so I can get my feet wet, but I would still go with the prevailing opinion on that one.

Count me in.

It hasn't changed much since I have been playing, so yeah it's still a good site. Though, I do tend to not play much in the first 15 minutes or so of tournaments because there is still a bunch of clowns who go All-in with 7, 2 only to lose to another one that went All-in with something only slightly better.

Although playing for BBP's is a little better as there is something to play for as 1000 of them equals ten bucks and the reckless betting is slightly less. A hundred times better then yahoo where everyone is All-in all the time.

After reading this thread, I think I might give FullTilt a look. It would be fun to watch some of the pros play online.

estragand, what kind of things would you recommend having in the PC (Hardware, software, etc) to make sure things would work smoothly and to ensure I wont have to run online every other week to order something else or upgrade something else?
