Why, oh why, when i visit a site (say ESPN.com or some links in 411 wrestling) does Explorer fail on me. Usually it will mention something like a "stack dump" or some other nonsense. Is there an alternative? Am I just being dumb?

Go to Mozilla.org and download the mozilla browser. Then, stop using IE.

Your analogy is similar to:

"They already have cars that you can drive, why not blenders?"
"I can already write with my hands, why not my pancreas?"
"They already have beef that I can eat, why not granite?"

-- my new favorite quote from Slashdot comments.

count me among the new batch of mozilla users. I just upgraded to ie6, then installed SP1 and now IE doesn't even work anymore. luckly i dl'ed mozilla before i tryed to upgrade IE...

EDIT:

i just noticed, is it just my verson, or does mozilla have built-in ad blocking, because ads aren't loading anymore for me, and it won't even display ad graphics...
espn.com is a good example. it had a ton of ads, but none are loading for me...

DDP: Well, there's this little passage I got memorized, Diamond Dallas 25:17. Sort of fits this occasion:

"The path of the bookerman is beset on all sides by the inequities of the talented, and the tyranny of workrate freaks. Blessed is he, who in the name of tradition and sports entertainment carries the stiffs through the matches of Nitro, for he is truly the workrate's keeper, and the finder of lost quality. And I will lay the smack down upon thee with great vengeance and furious roid rage those who attempt to outwrestle and expose my brothers. And you will know my name as the Bookerman, when I lay my catchphrase upon thee!"

I'm pretty sure that Mozilla has an ad blocking feature built in. I use Opera which can block popups and that's good enough for me.

You can choose to not view pop-up ads in Mozilla. I didn't think it was enabled by default though. Check Advanced -> Scripts and windows .... uncheck the box for "Open unrequested windows".

Granted I only skimmed the CNN article, but I thought this flight was ineligible for the X-Prize, since it won't be carrying enough weight to represent three people. Plus, they need to give 30 days notice for that. Click Here (science.slashdot.org).
