The term 'middle class' always gets thrown around a lot, and everyone always has a good idea of what they mean, but (as I've found in my own, profoundly unscientific surveys)typically, people have very different ideas of WHO is middle class.
So, off the top of your head, what kind of income would place a typical family of four smack dab in the middle of the middle class, in the USA? I realize that cost of living varies drastically across the country, but since these are our own opinions, just post what you think, based on your own location.
After there are a few responses, I'll look up some numbers and post them.
My thought is that a family of four needs to gross 80,000 to live a middle-class lifestyle, but then again, I live in a very expensive place.
