THE MAN IN THE HAT IS BACK! Paramount Home Entertainment releasing the entire Indiana Jones trilogy as a four-disc DVD set on November 4, containing over four hours of supplemental material and new interviews with Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and Harrison Ford.
Originally posted by wafflekingWell its about time. Now I'm waiting to hear word about the original Star Wars trilogy.
Lucasfilm will not release the orginal until the Prequels are done and he can release a definitive set. When I worked at Amazon Fox had set a realease time frame of Christmas 2006.

Fear can sometimes be a useful emotion. For instance, let's say you're an astronaut on the moon and you fear that your partner has been turned into Dracula. The next time he goes out for the moon pieces, wham!, you just slam the door behind him and blast off. He might call you on the radio and say he's not Dracula, but you just say, "Think again, bat man."
Well crap no audio commentary at all? They could at least put some text commentary on there or something. What about all those deleted scenes you can read about on the Indiana Jones website?
As for the star wars original trilogy, didn't George Lucas also say that the theatrical cuts of star wars will never be offered on DVD? So technically no theatrical cut of star wars will ever be released on DVD ever including the prequels...that is unless they don't alter Episode 3 on DVD at all.

Oh sure they will. After people own the Special Editions on DVD, they'd gladly go back and buy the originals, and George Lucas has never shown an aversion to selling anything outside of the Star Wars Holiday Special. You'll see the classic cut on DVD, but not until 2008 or so.

We'll be lucky if retitling Raiders is all he does. Hell, considering Lucas' distaste toward his fans, I wouldn't be surprised if he shipped blank DVDs, with a picture of him flipping the bird inside the case alongside a note saying "I own this movie, not you!"

I just watched the DVD set trailer online and they refer to Raiders as "Indiana Jones and The Raiders of the Lost Ark". I don't think I can shed an adequate amount of tears if this is indeed true.

I know. Some decisions that are made are what I like to call, "dumbshit." This is one of them. Apart from giving the trilogy some sort of titular unity I see no real reason for this retitling.
I mean would anyone have seen the original title and thought, "Why is Harrison Ford beating up on Noah?"
-LS "I don't know if we can beat these bastards." "Maybe not, but we don't have to JOIN them."
Doesn't it go further than just tacking the "Indiana Jones and" to the beginning of the first movie by considering the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles to be the first parts of the series, thus making the films part twenty-whatever? I seem to recall reading that somewhere...
