Impact Wrestling started off with a good video package covering the Sting-Roode feud and all the cheating Roode has done to hold onto the title and set up the contract signing for later in the show. The opening segment with Storm and Bully Ray was pretty good with Storm getting in ring mic time for the first time in a while. Storm was effective in setting up his match with Roode at Lockdown and Ray was usually his good self on the mic talking about how Storm will never get to Lockdown because he'd take him out at Victory Road. Storm sold wanting to get revenge on Ray for getting a post match beat down from Bully a few weeks ago. Ray backing down and getting someone to take his place was fine as you want people to buy the PPV to see Storm get his revenge on Ray. The brawl between Storm and Gunner didn't do anything for me because TNA overdoes the brawling. Ray I believe getting in a cheap shot while Storm was being held back was a great dick heel move.

Having Sting setting up two knockouts matches backstage before the first commercial break was a good move because it gets people to tune in and stick around for another match, as the knockouts draw the best ratings. Velvet Vs Madison was a pretty crappy match as Velvet really can't work and Madison while not a bad worker is not gonna carry someone like Velvet to a good match. I don't really care for the Madison-Gail feud and Madison after jobbing to ODB two weeks ago and dropping the knockouts tag titles really doesn't have any credibility. I don't think a cheap win over Velvet will do much for her.

Joe Vs Magnus was a better than expected match. I think Crimson has started to show some personality now that he's set to turn heel if he already isn't one. I'm so tired of seeing Joe job in singles matches, but even with Russo gone he's just not gonna get any sort of singles push. Morgan interfering and helping Crimson win in a heelish way was weird because Morgan has gotten on Crimson for his heelish attitude lately. I really like Magnus and Joe as a tag team, but they've got nothing to work with, as the only other tag team is the boring Morgan and Crimson tag team that may or may not break up. I miss the days when the tag teams in TNA were setting the wrestling world on fire. I don't see the glory days of the tag division coming back anytime soon. That is especially true with Chris Sabin having a setback from his knee injury and there being no timetable on his return. Wonder if Magnus gets gets depushed for defending Borash after Bischoff buried him.

The Aries segment where he was celebrating being the longest reigning X Division champ was okay and Aries drew very good heel heat. The issue was with him doing all his boasting is that you'd expect a baby face come out and cut down Aries and challenge him, but instead we got another heel like Ion come out and really the crowd didn't know how to react. Ion was fine on the mic, but I'm one of the many not feeling this heel-heel match up. The Aries-Shelley talk segment a month ago was so much better than this segment. I'm hoping after Victory Road they'll go back to the Aries-Shelley feud.

Mickie Vs Gail Kim was an okish five minute match that could have used more time. Since the knockouts draw the ratings they do why not give the match more time instead of throwing to a Mr. Anderson backstage segment? Anyway these two had an okay match with Gail working over Mickie's leg for most of the match. Personally I'd much rather have these two face off at the PPV than have Gail face another heel like Madison. It seemed like a month ago TNA was setting up a slow burn Mickie heel turn due to frustration over not being able to beat Gail and jobbing to Velvet, but after he sort of spoke out about Garrett on twitter she's been rarely seen on Impact.

Daniels Vs Anderson was a surprisingly good match thanks to Daniels carrying the match. Much as I dislike Anderson and as annoying as he is, the crowd is really behind him. They told a good story with Anderson having ring rust so Daniels mostly controlled the match. I don't love Daniels jobbing to Anderson, but Anderson is not gonna job in his first match back. It looks like they've totally dropped whatever secret Daniels has on Kaz and they seem to be telling a stockholmish storyline with Kaz playing a full fledged heel. Daniels sold the hell out of mic check taking it better than anyone Ive seen take it.

The Bischoff-Angle five minute challenge was a waste of time with the announcers giving Garrett verbal bjs for being the grittiest human being alive this side of David Eckstein. Angle at least did threat Garrett like a jobber pulling him up until the last thirty seconds. The only people cheering Garrett were the women that are paid to sit ringside. Garrett wasn't shoved down our throat like last week, but this was annoying.

Storm Vs Gunner wasn't much of a match just a showcase for Storm really. Pretty weird since they've spent so much time building up Gunner even putting him over Garrett. I'm not complaining as I'm not a big fan just saying I expected a more competitive match.

The videos throughout the show for the Roode-Sting feud were very effective. Roode got in some good heel lines like saying that Sting is jealous of him because he's a better champ than Sting was.

The contract signing with Sting and Roode was pretty good especially Roodes mic work. Roode talked about being better than Sting ever was a better champion and how Sting hogged the spotlight for so long. He also was effective in talking about how Sting was older and no longer the star he once was and couldn't hang with Roode. This was Roode's best promo of his career by far. Normally I don't like Sting busting out the Joker Sting, but it made sense that he snapped. I don't like Roode being laid out as that's three weeks in a row that Roode has been laid out , and has been made to look weak . I also think people buy PPVs to see the face get his hands on the heel and having Sting beat down Roode heading into the PPV partly takes that away. Could have had Sting blow a gasket and Roode bail out. Roode better win at Victory Road or he's pretty much fubar'd.

All in all, this was a improved show from last weeks awful show, but not nearly as good as Impact was two weeks ago. I liked the closing segment for the most part and a couple matches, but some of the feuds are a mess and there's some really no money heel on heel match ups at the PPV. The Garrett Bischoff stuff was toned down, but it's still awful. Hope they make the Roode-Storm feud the focal point of the company starting next Thursday.

I'm glad Bully threatened to beat up Storm so bad he wouldn't make it to Lockdown, unlike Kane, who threatened to beat up Cena, but not bad enough for him to miss Wrestlemania.

They laid everything out nicely at the end as it pertains to Bobby Roode's hatred of Sting. He did a great job there, and Sting's reaction, just sitting there and taking it, was well done too.

I still feel like the use kid gloves with Sting though. I wish you'd have someone really lay into him. Roode should have brought up being there when TNA couldn't get a TV show and how him and the other guys had to get to the back of the line as soon as Sting came. How Sting wrestles 3 or 4 times a year while they wrestle that many times a week.

Uh did you not hear the promo? He cut him down big time, but there's no need to completely bury the guy when you're trying to sell a match. Roode's promo was pitch perfect imo. The promo was about Roode being better than Sting ever was and how Sting was jealous of him and the fact that Sting was washed up and still hanging on because he had a massive ego. There was no kid gloves treatment.

I didn't really care too much for last night's show. There wasn't anything horrible that happened but, for the most part, there weren't all that many good things. I was also pretty bored throughout most of the show. There were a couple of decent matches, the opening promo segment was good and Roode saved the contract signing from being a total loss. Other than that, mostly just boredom or altogether lackluster matches & segments. When I look at the Victory Road ppv, I see a lot of heel vs. heel contests and I have no sense of who to be for or against. As a result, I haven't been pulled into the storylines of these matches, nor have I been made to especially care about one competitor over the other. The show felt like filler and that's the entire feeling I get when it comes to the Victory Road ppv.[

Not the most entertaining show in the world, but far better than last weeks show. The highlight was easily Roode's show closing promo which graves accurately called pitch perfect. Roode has gotten much more comfortable in his own skin and in his character. I would do away with the it factor line though. The Heel-Heel match ups are weird and really pointless. Not happy with Anderson returning and his backstage talkie bit annoyed me as he is really obnoxious. Liked his match with Daniels though. Why is Robbie E still employed? Why is the TV Title still around? Can't wait for Robbie E Vs likely Devon at Victory Road. Even Eric Bischoff could out wrestle Garrett. Who trained this stiff?

Bischoff late at night slammed Borash calling him a bit player who is lucky to have a job after Bischoff claims that a bartender told him that Borash acts like he owns TNA. Bischoff has taken shots at Borash before. He said in a radio interview three or four years ago that Borash doesn't belong on TV. Magnus defended Borash on Twitter calling him one of the hardest workers there is and tweeting something like aren't people supposed to mature as they get older? Magnus also dates Mickie James who on Twitter questioned Hogan calling Garrett the future of pro wrestling.

Apparently he was trained by Rikishi a few years ago and Brian Knobs as well. Hell of an advertisement for their wrestling schools eh? Anyone else think Garrett is gonna answer Robbie E's open challenge and win the TV title?

If only he went to Team 3D's school he would have ended up as well as Rob Terry or Jesse Neal.........
