Not a horrid show but the main event was a clusterfuck that pissed me off. AJ Styles is/was leaving the company. he had no contract. yet they made him look like an unstoppable machine/their heels look like GEEKS. the mentality that heels always have to cheat to win is why heels today are all gigantic pussies. they cannot be taken seriously, now Magnus cannot be taken seriously. Magnus should have been made to at least look credible against AJ Styles, you know they guy who has left the company.

the point of booking is to book angles/matches that will lead to money being drawn somewhere. instead TNA just killed off a good portion of their roster's credibility in one night. now they all look like GEEKS who cannot be taken seriously. the point of booking is NOT to just make asinine storylines make sense at the expense of the company. ironic that it was the last match Jarrett booked cause this was every match from his reign of champion. pissed that Daniels and Kaz are jobbers now and The Bromans are tag champs.

Wait, are we sure Jarrett booked this? Because if he's gone to form his own company and AJ's still a free agent, then maybe he did a great job of building up someone to make money down the line. Just not in TNA.

(whoever booked it, other people probably should've noticed it was a long term bad idea, but they seem focused on the very short term.)

The show was booked a month ago so Jarrett was still there. The match had Jarrett's finger prints all over it as the match reminded me of Jarrett Vs Raven back in '03. There is conflicting reports whether a styles re-signed or is just still negitioning with TNA. I do find it ironic that in Styles' last match for a while anyway that he was booked stronger than anytime in his long TNA history. The rumored Main Event for Lockdown is a Styles vs Magnus so we shall see.

I liked the show this week.

The main event wasn't what I was expecting, but it made for a fantastic story. It wasn't quite as one sided as it seemed, since two of the referees were favoring AJ. It did make the badguys look weak, but since the heels won in the end they at least seem competent. I love competent villains.

Also, I considered the quality of goons facing the two established mainevent babyfaces, Sting and AJ. Rockstar Spud is a lower card guy, a core component of Bad Influences's gimmick is that they are bitter towards AJ due to rarely ever being able to beat him, and the BroMans + DJ Zema are midcarders. That leaves Ethan Carter III, Brutus Magnus, and Bobby Roode. ECIII's skill level against non-jobbers has not yet been established. Magnus was deliberately being coy, and not wanting to battle AJ head on. Once Roode showed up, AJ quickly thereafter was finally pinned. All things considered, considering the lack of main eventers on the heel side during most of the match, and the referees favoring of AJ, Styles lasting as long as he did wasn't that absurd.

I continue to enjoy the direction Bully Ray's character has taken. After being the Big Bad for so long, he couldn't go back to being Just Another Guy over night. Anderson works better as a heel, but I'm still enjoying him in this feud with Ray. The funeral house is a cool location for TNA segments. I was pleased to see it make a return.

A competent heel is someone who can beat the babyface with very little or no help. This did not make Magnus look competent.

Sounds like The American Wolves are gonna debut on Impact tonight so the tag team division is about to improve. Hoping more hires are made.

I hate this double standard as it applies to the Weiner golden boy, Chris Jericho. Cheating to win is considered normal, acceptable heel tactics.
