So I’m back in Florida for the holidays so I decided to check out the second leg of the Impact Wrestling tapings.

The show started off with Madison Rayne coming out in a refrees garb and calling out Tara and Tessmacher and saying that they would face each other with Madison being the ref. The match went to a no contest due to Tara and Tessmacher attacking Rayne.

Next up in the wild card tag tourney which is like lethal lottery ODB and Eric Young defeated Anarquia and Shannon Moore when Moore left Anarquia alone.

A.J. Styles and Kazarian defeated Rob Van Dam and Christopher Daniels in a Wild Card Tournament when RVD turned on Daniels and Kazarian beat Daniels with fade to black. Good match while it lasted winners in this tourney face off with Crimson and Morgan at Genesis.

Tony Nese beat Zema Ion with a rollup in the second match of their Best of Three Series to tie it at one victory each. The winner of this best of three matches faces Aries at Genesis. I suspect Niese will win because Zema was heelish in the match. And from I understand he’s a good heel.

Next up was Storm calling out Angle but Angle was at a bar in Storm’s home town and spit on a waitress. Make your own jokes with Angle being in a bar.

Main Event was Hardy and a mystery partner that turned out to be Sting vs Roode and Bully Ray. Sting and Hardy won and Hardy put Roode through a table.

12-29-11 tapings started off with Madison and Gail coming out and Madison tried to fire Tara and Tessmacher for attacking her but Sting came out and said she had no power to do that and booked a Gail Kim-Mickie James rematch.

Doug Williams beat Gunner by dq when Gunner ddted him on the floor. Williams tweeted interested times ahead…………… the other day so he may be on the way out. He was stretchered out.

Samoa Joe and Magnus beat ODB and Eric Young in the semifinals of the wild card tag tourney when Joe beat Young. That’s a rare win on Impact for Joe.

RVD beat Angle thanks to Storm's interference match. Pretty good match one of the few matches that RVD actually gave a game effort.

AJ and Kazarian beat Abyss and Steiner when Abyss turned on Steiner, so it will be Joe and Magnus Vs Styles and Kaz in the tourney finals and the winner faces Crimson and Morgan at Genesis. Bully Ray came out and challenged Abyss to a Monsters Ball Match at Genesis and if Abyss loses he has to rejoin Immortal.

Gail Kim beat Mickie James when a masked woman attacked Mickie it looked to be Madison Rayne, but if Melina comes in it will likely be her. From what I understand more stuff will be booked for the 12-29-11 tapings and the entire 1-5-12 tapings will be taped tonight.

There was some good and some bad but nothing too terrible. It looks like they’re building to a Sting-Roode match down the line maybe at Against all odds or victory road.

12-29-11 Zema Ion defeated Anthony Nese in a contract on a pole match. Yup Russo brought that shit back. Happy bday Vinny Ru!

The 1-5-12 tapings started with Sting talking about his past demons and putting over Hardy for fighting his this lead to Angle, Ray and Roode coming out and bashing sting and he booked a 6 man between those three and Abyss-Storm-Hardy*T

*TNA Knockouts champion
Gail Kim and Madison Rayne defeated Mickie James and Traci Brooks.

*Gunnervs rvd was a dq when Gunner tried to piledrive RVD on the floor and the agents stopped him.
*Zema Ion and Jesse Sorensen defeated Austin Aries and Kid Kash both teams bickered which is vintage russo.

*Magnus and Samoa Joe defeated AJ Styles and Kazarian to win the tournament and will challenge Crimson and Matt Morgan at Genesis. Daniels pulled Kaz off just when he was gonna be taged and lead to aj being pinned.

*Jeff Hardy & James Storm & Abyss wrestled Bobby Roode, Bully Ray and Kurt Angle to a Double DQ. The bad guys got the advantage and Roode put Hardy in the crossface while Angle put storm in the anklelock and Ray hung Abyss. Go finish to the go home show.

Ok, Sting/Roode has no interest from me. Madison being all over the place and no Velvet or Anglina or Wynter makes me concerned. ODB/Young could be a disaster or Santino level fun, but we somehow get Joe/dead weight vs. AJ/Kaz, I'm pretty pleased. Kurt in a bar...wow..just wow. Also RVD vs. RVD, I'll give him credit for pulling that off. So, is Karen fired and Madison have all the power now. I am really confused by all of this.

Poor AJ from Main Eventing two PPV's in a row to being thrown in a tag team. I wish Joe would have been teamed with Douglas Williams instead of Magnus. Joe and Williams would be a awesome tag team. That said, if Williams is really on the way out it makes sense. I'm surprised that Steiner-Abyss or ODB and Young didn't win this tournement. This doesn't sound like a very promising show. I hope the alliance of Ray and Roode doesn't lead to Roode joining Immortal.

Well they booked an injury angle when Gunner piledrove Garrett on the floor last week so I'd expect they'll keep him off TV for a few weeks or even months. It looks like they'll have Gunner take out other guys like Williams until Garrett makes his trumpant return to get revenge.

Yea, why not. There'll be an obscenely long reacp of this on luchablog...eventually, and there's a tiny recap this on twitter/luchablog, so I guess this one is the medium sized version. (Well, for me it is.) Match 1: Shockercito (c)
