I decided that I wasn't in the mood for promos, so I ended up getting through the show in about half an hour. Yikes.

Jeff Jarrett kicks off the show and he calls Mick Foley the Greatest Acquisition TNA has ever made. (I think he's...really wrong?) Kurt Angle is out and disagrees. JJ walks off and Angle says he should tell his three little girls that he's a quitter. JJ agrees to take on Angle at Bound for Glory (October 12 on PPV!).

Rock 'n' Rave Infection vs. Matt Morgan and Abyss: Yawn. Rave gets pinned after the Hellevator.

3D is out and challenges Morgan and Abyss to a Monster's Ball match at Bound for Glory -- Abyss expresses concern about this, since he doesn't use weapons any more. (Oh, also other Tag Teams can get in if they want -- apparently they're doing a MCMG vs. LAX qualifying match at the next tapings.)

Awesome Kong vs. Mercedes Steele: Steele (known in some places as "Lexxus") gets some offense in -- if it can still be called "offense" when your opponent doesn't seem to notice it. Raisha Saeed is out halfway through the match and I can tell immediately that it's not actually Saeed. Steele keeps doing this annoying squeaky screech up until Kong actually kills her dead.

"Saeed" brings in a chair and...hits Kong with it! Kong is stunned until "Saeed" reveals herself to be...Roxxi! I had assumed it would be Taylor Wilde, so I feel less clever now.

Karen Angle interviews Christian Cage; not even Cage can get me to watch "Karen's Angle."

LAX & Hector Guerrero vs. Beer Money & Jacqueline: Loser loses their manager forever! If Spike forbids man-on-woman violence, why don't Beer Money just keep Jackie in the ring the whole time? There's no way she can lose! Wow, Hector does the Three Amigos, and not even he can swivel his hips like Eddie did. Roode clobbers Hernandez with Storm's football helmet for the win. Well, I'd rather see Hector go than Jacqueline, but I'm still concerned that this is leading up to an LAX split.

Sonjay Dutt and SoCal Val are STILL in bed after No Surrender -- they sing "Give Peace a Chance," ha.

Sting is here and blah blah blah. Someone please tell me if he's coming off like a face or a heel -- I didn't watch. I do note that he seems to have a PowerPoint presentation, which says "heel" to me.

Sheik Abdul Bashir vs. Samoa Joe: Bashir -- surprisingly -- does some damage when Joe hurts his knee and Bashir focuses on it. But Joe shakes it off and kills Bashir with the MuscleBuster.

Booker T vs. AJ Styles: Christian Cage is out to observe, so I spend the match waiting for a swerve. I note that Earl Hebner is hovering awkwardly an sure enough there's a ref bump -- I'm getting better at anticipating those. Sharmell comes in with a steel briefcase -- Cage takes it away -- Styles sees Cage with the case -- Booker takes the case and clobbers Styles with it for the pin.

No swerve, but Styles and Cage have a little tiff.

And that's it.

Robert Roode is so boring, yet they keep pushing him. He's the Jeff Jarrett of a promotion that has the actual Jeff Jarrett.

Sting says "swerve" and I change the channel.

The only part I caught was Sting's promo. I got a kick out of each picture with the caption: "Photo provided by Pro Wrestling Illustrated". How much did Apter make off of that? And using the NWO Hogan pic? C'mon, that's so '97.

I only watched Awesome Kong squash Mercedes Steele because I'm a big Lexxus fan. Been following her career here in Massachusetts in World Women's Wrestling and New England Championship Wrestling. Roxxi too, she was Nikki Roxx, biggest female star in New England.

The Kong squash wasn't exactly a good showcase for Lexxus. Considering how small she is, working against a huge monster isn't her strong point, but hey, she got on national TV. That's the important thing. If they sign her, she and Taylor Wilde can be little blonde twins.

I hate the name Mercedes Steele though. Pretty unimaginative. My friends and I propose any of the following, superior car-based names:

BMW Jones
Prius Sentra
Scion Escalade
Smartcar Henderson (my personal favorite)
Rio Hummer (probably the winner)

Does she do that much screeching in every match? I barely caught much of Impact. It was a ton of talking on both it and the hour long season premiere of The Office. I went with the funny stuff last night.

Plus no MCMG after the just returned from a month long hiatus last week.

Terrible show. I was in and out, everytime I floated in it was a promo.

The Sting promo was just lousy. The Matt Morgan/Abyss segment was dumb, and SoCal Val and Dutt I didn't stick around for.

There's no reason TNA should be putting out a product this bad. Make those guys in tights roll around in the ring for Christ's sake.

There was a lot of talking but most of it was good except for Sting's rambling and Booker's new accent. Team 3D, AJ, Dutt/So Cal, Angle/Jarrett and Christian (if you can ignore Karen) were all good. The wrestling was horrible.

Sting still wasn't real clear. It seemed to me he was trying to be a heel against Jeff Jarrett but then when he changed topics to Joe it was like he was trying to be a face.

I'm worried that LAX is breaking up too and that will probably lead to them leaving when their contract is up. TNA seems to still not want to use MCMG so their once young and talented roster is quickly disappearing.

Nope, the screeching was mostly all new. I'd blame Russo, like I always do, but something tells me little Lexxus was just terrified of Awesome Kong.

Wow, TNA...great work: you sign Mick Foley, call him the best thing to come to TNA since Kurt Angle or Christan Cage (if you believe the hype), and follow up with...yeah. A tirty second promo last week, and nothing this week. Come on, now.

Sllow burn. There's a lot going on in this relatively new angle so they don't want to fuck it up right away.

I didn't mind the talking, but holy hell, HOW many video packages were there? I don't think I've seen a show with so many video packages in quite a while.

Good show besides that, though, even with the awesome "I DONT HAVE TO GIVE AN EXPLANATION!" explanation SoCalVal gave.

lol, well put. He was definitely a heel this week as he basically praised every old timer people dislike (and Flair) then said Joe had no respect and showed a picture of Sting himself saying "This is the man who will win the title" or something. One of the better promos he's done lately, I think. Definite heel tonight. MMV in the upcoming weeks, though.

Also, he got a "OVERRATED!" chant for Hogan to start.
