Samoa Joe is out and he SLAMS Sting for not doing house shows, for never missing his sons' football games, while guys like Joe and AJ Styles are bleeding for the company. At Bound for Glory (October 12 on PPV!), Joe is going to kick Sting's ass all over the ring!

AJ Styles and Christian Cage vs. The Motor City Machineguns: Pretty good match -- I'd love to see a PPV match from these guys. MMG lose, of course -- Chris Sabin gets pinned by the Styles Clash.

After the match, they shake hands with AJ Styles but flip off Cage. Hm.

Petey Williams, Johnny Devine, and Jimmy Rave vs. The Prince Justice Brotherhood: Mostly inoffensive. Super Eric pins Williams with a cross body block (that's really super, Super Eric!).

After the match, the heels argue, with Rave and Devine blaming Petey for the loss. Lance Rock is in and shoves down the ref, Shane Sewell, who Sewells Up and goes berserk! He and Williams clear the ring! Is this a face turn for Petey?

Abyss and Matt Morgan kiss and make up -- Morgan watched the replay from No Surrender and now knows that Abyss didn't hit him with a chair. Team 3D is here and this feud is not over yet!

Jackie Moore sets up Hector Guerrero for a Beer Money beatdown; this leads to a match being made for next week (I think): LAX and Hector vs. Beer Money and Jackie, with the loser losing their manager forever. (This would have been a nice way to write out Salinas, but oh well.)

Sting is out and he tells Joe to get off his lawn.

AJ and Cage are fussing backstage -- Cage tells AJ to remember who put him in the spotlight -- is Cage going heel?

Jay Lethal vs. Booker T: Jay puts on a pretty god showing, only losing because he got tripped up by Sharmell, which allows Booker to hit the axe kick for the win.

Velvet Sky and Cute Kip vs. Taylor Wilde and Rhino: Wow, okay. There's no way Kip is worth what TNA must be paying him. But anyway. Taylor Wilde get a weird rollup on Velvet Sky for the pin.

The Beautiful People, Kip, and Awesome Kong beat down Wilde and Rhino.

Jeff Jarrett is out and cuts a VERY good promo, outing himself as the founder of TNA, stating that WCW went out of business because the veterans refused to pass the torch and were afraid of losing their spots, and calling out Sting and accusing him of turning into one of those guys.

Kurt Angle is out. Jeff Jarrett says that he hand-picked Angle to fill JJ's shoes two years ago when JJ had to step away from the business -- and picking Kurt was the worst move he ever made. Angle says that JJ's jealous because Angle is younger and better -- he challenges Jeff to match at Bound for Glory. Jarrett says that he's not a wrestler anymore -- but...he points to the video screen...

...where MICK FOLEY appears. "It's real, Kurt! It's damn real! BANG BANG!"

That was the best promo of JJ's career, probably because he meant almost every word of it. It's always easier that way. Put that one right behind Foley/Edge as promo of the year.

Has Booker's accent shifted?

Two great promos in one night: Sting offering a great history lesson, and Jarrett, offering a great story on why he started TNA.

I find it funny, the storyline about older stars vs. newer stars, yet they're incorporating Mick Foley into it.

That Styles Clash looked PAINFUL.

"I'm not a wrestler any more ... but this announcer is!" lol.

Great promo by Jarrett, but I fail to see where picking Angle to replace Jarrett two years ago was a bad move. Kind of took away from it a little bit IMHO.

It'll be interesting to see if any of the older stars take the POV that for X years, Jarrett did exactly what they're now trying to do -- refused to pass the torch and made himself champ a bazillion times (well, I guess "you gave yourself title shot after title shot" is how they'd have to say it). That and they could probably claim with some logic that it's not that all that noble to take your ball and go home because you can't hack it, and then use someone else's money to start a new game where you can be the star. He's bringing real into it, so I wonder if others will too.

If done right, I can see this overall angle going FAR beyond heel versus face, though. I don't think all the old guys will be heels and the new guys faces -- there can be infighting within each group, I think.

What are the chances that someone will use the line "I respect you, bookerman" to Jarrett? lol.

Maybe JJ meant that Angle was given his spot, and then acted like a big A-hole for the last 2 years, and is holding the young guys down.

I think a big part of this story is the redemption of JJ, so I would think they would have to mention that he was part of the problem, but realized it, and walked away. At least they SHOULD.

I can see a huuuuuuge conflict there. Jarrett walked away because his family needed him, yet Samoa Joe criticizes Sting for being there for HIS family ... based on a contract signed by Jarrett. Jarrett outing himself as the main guy in TNA opens himself up for questions as to why he signed people like Sting to contracts like that.

I've seen suggested elsewhere that Booker's accent is Forest Whitaker as Idi Amin in The Last King of Scotland. That sounds about right, although what exactly Booker is thinking is still a mystery.

Yeah, but they don't have much of a choice. They have to bring Foley in as a babyface. Besides I doubt he's going to be a regular wrestler so he won't be holding anybody back like Angle/Sting/Booker etc and I don't think anybody would accuse Foley of doing that in his career so he doesn't really fit on Sting's side even if he is an old guy..

Not the same. First of all when Jarrett was an active wrestler in TNA he wrestled every show, sometimes 2 times a show. I know a lot of people give crap to Jarrett for all his title reigns but he really did bust his ass for the company. Sting's entire TNA career has been make an appearance a month, work once every two months and that's about it. There's also a huge difference between seeing your boy's games and going home because your wife died of cancer.

Why would Jarrett sign Sting to such contract is a better question. Although did Jarrett say he had a problem with Sting only wrestling part time? That was Joe's gripe. Jarrett's gripe was that the older guys are holding the young guys back. Perhaps Jarrett is fine with Sting working part time as long he doesn't hold the young talent back.

I'm interested where they are going with Christian/MCMG. I liked Christian's face work but he's good either way since he basically played the same character as a face as he did as a heel. I'm just curious if the match with the MCMG was just to help put over the fact that Christian might be turning heel or if it will lead to a feud. It'd be great to see MCMG get pushed on Styles and Joe's side. Maybe Christian can reunite with Tomko, Tomko tossing around MCMG could be fun.

Its a shame the ratings didn't do anything for Foley, but Thursday is a dead spot for TV. I still say run the show against Raw, live and see what happens. They may get killed in the beginning, but they may move forward later on.

As for the show, it did a very good job of detailing the overall storyline of young vs old. Joe did get a pop as did Sting, so maybe they should just switch the focus from old vs. young to an Invasion angle which at this point you have most of the stars lined up for it. I think that would work better then the current direction, but its not bad, so we will see.

I do like TNA, but Kong is a division killer. I really do hope they either find someone who can go toe to toe with her and win or give someone like ODB a meaningful win. I am really bored with her character. I am also not a fan of Daviri's character and his promo, very bush league.

Every time I see Booker's styling robes in his equally swank dressing room, I think of this.

Now that I think about it, being a part time metal-masked Scottish laird/weapons designer might explain the accent, too.

It's almost a parallel of the Muhammad Hassan gimmick in WWE. That didn't do anything to win fans over, either.
