+ Robert Roode/Ms. Brooks vs. Kazarian/Gail Kim
Kim wins with a roll-up. Roode blames Brooks, and Kaz defends her, complete with a cheek smooch. Kazarian is pushed as done with the Serotonin.

Christian sends Tomko/Styles to beat up Samoa Joe. Cage, slumped in a chair and wearing a hospital gown, claims Joe may have ended his career. After Tomko/Styles pass Jeremy Borash, Team 3D use Borash's mic and camera to apologize to the fans and Steiners for being jerks lately. They want to turn over a new leaf.

+ Ron Killings beats Eric Young with a chairshot behind the ref's back. Pacman Jones walks out to spraypaint PAC on Young's back, fulfilling Eric's request for a autograph from last week.

Joe chases Styles to the ring for a beatdown, but Christian emerges fine and dandy behind him for a chair attack. A concerto ensues. Next Thursday will see Joe vs. Cage vs. Abyss vs. Sting with the winner teaming up with Angle to defend the tag titles at the PPV.

James Storm uses a "cowboy pub crawl" to find Rhyno and beat him up. Neither happens.

A new Dustin Rhodes promo builds up his character. Rhodes seems to be picking up the multiple-personality gimmick from Foley, and I think he'd be fine at it.

James Mitchell IDs his boy Judas Masseus as the guy who dragged Abyss under a ring and bloodied him a few weeks back.

+ Kurt Angle vs. Steiner Brothers, with the stipulation that the Steiners get five minutes with Karen if they win. Rick Steiner is taken out by Team 3D, and Angle pins. Scott eats a 3D, and Rick goes through a table afterward. This makes two quick swerves by lying heel factions on one show.

You know, for a guy we all gave up for dead last year, Angle looks and moves great. He was flying off Steiner suplexes.

Him taking moves well means dick. Angle's the kind of guy who'd continue to do a moonsault 'til his legs fall off. Given that TNA's drug policy is non-existent, it's possible that he's going out there loaded on painkillers. Looking at how much his body's changed, and knowing how deluded he is, I just don't find it comfortable to watch him any more. And that's saying nothing of how much his wrestling ability has deteriorated. Arrogant, show-dominating, avergae-match-having, twilight-of-his-career Angle is not somebody who I find entertaining.

To those who say people wouldn't look; they wouldn't be interested; they're too complacent, indifferent and insulated, I can only reply: There is, in one reporter's opinion, considerable evidence against that contention. But even if they are right, what have they got to lose? Because if they are right, and this instrument is good for nothing but to entertain, amuse and insulate, then the tube is flickering now and we will soon see that the whole struggle is lost. This instrument can teach, it can illuminate; yes, and it can even inspire. But it can do so only to the extent that humans are determined to use it to those ends. Healthwise I'm sure he's in at least a little better shape because he only works three dates a month now. Medicine-wise you figure he's doing whatever he wants to whatever extent he wants depending on how much you believe about REHABBING ON THE ROAD~! Wrestling-wise he's just making everyone work around his signature spots. Physique-wise I am concerned for his testosterone to epitestosterone ratio, but healthwise I guess he feels good enough to do a lot of bodybuilding.

I don't see how any of this is surprising. With out trying to knock or support Angle, wasn't his wanting to be the unchallenged top-guy one of the unwritten reasons he left WWE?

No HHH, no Taker, no Austin, no Rock, no bizarro WWE-politico wranglings. Just a bunch of guys who don't have his real-life or professional accolades and therefore, cannot challenge his spot or importance to the company (perceived or otherwise). The only other guy who comes remotely close is Sting, but we all know what Sting is at the point in his career (indifferent?), etc.

Angle has what he wanted to always have. He's the top guy no one can challenge either in the ring or in the locker room because he has the influence and ability to stretch/bully people who piss him off.

Just my two cents.

It's just a message board, people. Chill out.

When Angle was in the WWE, he could barely walk to the ring. He arched his back forward, relying on his quads to move him around. He doesn't move like that now. I can't tell if his TNA workrate is a sign of his condition or TNA's style of quick matches. No one looks great in TNA with that limitation.

I'm against his planned three matches at the PPV because it's booking overkill. I can't think of anyone in TNA I'd pay to see work that many matches in such a prominent way. TNA is either confident of how they'll manage this trick or how Angle can handle it once the last pinfall is done. Doesn't mean they're right about either, I'll grant you.

But the point is, he might be moving better because, unlike WWE, he can get away with being doped up to the eyeballs for everything he does. I think trying to judge Angle's condition from his appearances on TNA TV is a futile exercise. Like Justin said, his health is probably improved from the reduced shcedule, but the problems Angle has had don't just go away. And improvement or no, booking a guy with his history in three matches on the same night is akin to booking Scott Steiner in an Iron Man match.

Angle didn't "leave" WWE, he was told to go away.

He was not.

He was told to heal, and felt he didnt need to.

There was a heated discussion, and according to angle, he threw coffee on Mr McMahon and left the WWE.

According to Angle, he's also five years younger than he actually is, Test is a main-event star, and he's been painkiller-free for years.

Angle was fired. Everybody agrees on this except Angle. Accepting his word on it, in the face of everyone else in the wrestling world saying otherwise and Angle spending most of the past year spouting egotistical BS, is some seriously wilful ignorance.

Meh, that was a clunker of a show. Graffiti tagging, really? Well, welcome to 1996 I guess. None of the matches clicked very well, Samoa Joe is competing to become Angle's tag partner even though he's Kurt's mortal enemy and Kurt was supposed to be able to pick his own partner, and the Sinister Minister is still on my damn television. If it was up to me, at this point Impact would be nothing but Christian, Tomko, and AJ standing around. I don't know, maybe playing battleship or something.

Call me crazy, but I'm getting really tired of these Vince Russo SHOCKING SWERVES! Which I guess is somewhat of an inaccuracy to say, since I was tired of them back in 1999 when this same type of crap was happening in WCW.

It's nice to move Roode onto a new feud. But based on the ending of that match, if you can't see where this feud is going (Brooks leaves Roode and joins Kaz, Brooks turns on Kaz, Brooks reveals she was with Roode all along in a SHOCKING SWERVE), you haven't watched any show booked by Vince Russo. Seriously, it's to the point where you can see these turns coming from beyond miles away at this point.

So if they're booking Killings and Pacman as heels...then who are the faces supposed to be at the PPV? Surely, it's not supposed to be ANGLE? Is anyone booking this crap even considering this?

After everything from the last few months, just one SHOCKING SWERVE a month is enough. Instead, we get two in one night with Christian Cage (who claimed to have had his career ended and was supposedly at home) and the Dudz (who supposedly made amends with the Steiners). What makes them insanely stupid, though, is that we were supposedly pulled in AND swerved all in the span of a one-hour show. It's Crash TV, baby!

I realize she hasn't been on TV all that long, but I'm already sick of Karen Angle.

So next's week main event is a four-way between Samoa Joe, Christian Cage, Sting, and AJ Styles with the winner becoming Angle's partner? Jumpin' Jehoshaphat, they wouldn't (on top of EVERYTHING) put Joe over here to create the Wacky Tag Team Champions That Can't Get Along, would they? The Joe/Angle feud's already a dead horse and has been for months without adding that inane stupidity to it.

Yeah, all the Vince Russo hallmarks are here. Insanely stupid swerves, shades of gray, Crash TV for the ADD-addled viewer, moronic stipulations (Steiners get 5 minutes with Karen Angle, even though they've had no interaction with her whatsoever), and now the potential for feuding tag champions. Is anyone at the top of this promotion really deluded enough to think this stuff will make money when it hasn't in the past?

Could be worse, at least a celebrity isn't holding a major title...yet. Could change at the PPV.

There are enough pieces and parts to make this thing work, but the booking is just horrid. I'm convinced this whole thing can no longer be fixed and should be scrapped altoghether. I used to watch in hopes of finding a quality match that the WWE just glosses over, but TNA doesn't even bring that anymore. It's nothing more than a fourth brand at this point.

I was re-watching Happiness of the Katakuris on Thursday and forgot all about this show. Perhaps my brain is trying to tell me something. Anyway, I caught the replay.

Good:

Kazarian's push (although he's announced as "Kaz," and his chyron says "Kaz"; but his entrance video and trunks say "Kazarian"...)

No "The Punisher" Andrew "Test" Martin. Second show in row, which means they didn't even bother bringing him in for the taping. This gives me hope.

Bad:

Don West and Mike Tenay's glee at the prospect of Karen Angle spending five minutes getting beaten up by two men.

More Rhodes.

More Pacman (although there is potential with him as a heel who hides behind his contract -- "oh, I would kick your ass if not for this contract...you bet I would..." Problem is, he can never receive his just desserts in any way.)

Karen Angle's speaking role.

Everything else was eh. I don't even have anything to say about the matches.

It looks to me like it'll be Joe vs. Christian at the PPV, which (probably) leaves both of them out of the running as Angle's partner. Styles is a total non-factor, sadly. That leaves Sting to be Angle's partner. So: Sting is the face at the PPV -- it's conceivable that that could work, I guess. It doesn't solve your WTTCTCGA issue, but there it is.
