Hi, everyone! Hey, I wanted to mention a couple of newsbits that don't deserve their own thread but might be of interest nonetheless:

First, last week I mentioned that New Japan was not recognizing the British Invasion IWGP Tag Title win. Apparently they've reversed that. Communication breakdown somewhere in there? Who knows.

Second, Scott D'Amore is on his way back to TNA (Click Here -- PWInsider.com-via-411) and will be back to working with the Knockouts. I think this is great -- the Knockout Division was at its highest peak when he (along with Gail Kim) was there, and right now the Knockouts have been doing some really great stuff (with the addition of Sarita, Flash, and Tara) and it should only get better with the return of D'Amore.

-----

Speaking of the Knockouts, tonight's show starts with the return of Christy Hemme, facing the already-in-the-ring Sojo Bolt!

Christy Hemme vs. Sojo Bolt: I said to my wife that these two in the ring was a "recipe for people falling down." This was a low point in the day, articulation-wise, but sure enough, Christy at one point back body-drops Sojo and Sojo lands pretty much on her head. Ow. Match as a whole is watchable but not particularly..."crisp," let's say (I am trying to be charitable). Hemme wins with the Flying Firecrotch Guillotine, a pretty great move (vertical split into a leg drop, off the second rope) with one of the worst names in wrestling history. My wife suggested calling it the "Hemmerrhage," which is much better.

Doug Williams vs. Hernandez: Doug puts up some fight but falls to the might of Hernandez. Best part was when the crowd was chanting "USA! USA! USA!" but then they all stopped at the same time, thought about it for a few moments, and started chanting "MEXICO! MEXICO! MEXICO!" Hernandez seems to have picked up A-Train's over-the-shoulder backbreaker. That only gets two. Doug is only able to get the upper hand when Brutus Magnus acts as a distraction. Hernandez wins with a sitout powerbomb (starting from a fallaway slam position, like Monty Brown's Alpha Bomb).

After the match, Magnus attacks but gets a big shoulderblock and a SuperMex Splash in return; Rob Terry then nails Hernandez in the face with his own briefcase. Oh, also, Terry and Hernandez will have a match this Sunday at Hard Justice!

Mike Tenay sits down with Bobby Lashley and I totally FFWD.

Dr. Stevie (and Daffney) are in back with Jeremy Borash; Stevie talks about how awesome the $50,000 bounty on "Chris"'s head is. Abyss shows up and throttles Stevie, wanting to know why he won't do his dirty work himself. Jethro Holiday shows up to beat Abyss down with a chair -- "REMEMBER ME?" (Abyss attacked Jethro a month or two ago, so -- continuity!) If the whole "$50,000 bounty" gimmick is just leading up to this heel turn for Jethro Holiday -- well, color me disappointed.

Tara talks to Lauren as Poison crawls up her arm and perches on her shoulder. Cute!

Rhino and a homeless muppet Jesse Neal vs. Eric Young and Abdul Bashir: Kiyoshi is out as well. Most of the match features Jesse Neal getting his ass kicked as Don West mocks him for not improving at all. Heh heh. Rhino & Neal's teacher/student relationship is strained -- Don West: "I think the first thing the teacher should've done is take the student shopping, get him some different wrestling gear." When Neal finally has a chance to tag out, he instead decides to go after Bashir on the apron, and Young rolls up Neal (using the tights, says Mike Tenay, but Young actually uses Neal's sweatshirt) for the pin.

After the match, Rhino SLAPS Neal and GORES him. Rhino does an interview with Lauren backstage where he wants to know if Neal will get up and fight again, so maybe that's not a heel turn so much as it is tough love.

ODB vs. Awesome Kong vs. Angelina Love vs. Tara: With, respectively, Cody Deaner, Raisha Saeed, Madison Rayne and Velvet Sky, and Poison. If it was me, I'd be keeping Tara and Kong away from each other and building up for their "dream match," but what do I know. Anyway, this goes pretty well until a spot where Tara dives off the top turnbuckle onto the Beautiful People on the floor -- well, Tara sort of slides down the front of the Beautiful People and her face bounces off the concrete. Commercial break!

Tara's in the ring with Kong when we come back, so I guess no harm done. Scary, though. We end up with Kong and ODB and Kong kills ODB with a legdrop. Cody Deaner is on the apron, making threats. Kong goes over to stare him down and Deaner turns his hat around -- SMOOOOOCHAS for Kong! You don't do that without permission, says West -- Kong yanks Deaner into the ring and Awesomebombs him! Tara sneaks up behind Kong and rolls her up for three. Man, the schoolboy is Kong's kryptonite.

AJ Styles and Sting are with Lauren, and they somehow turn the Styles/Morgan best of three finale into a quest for Styles to not leave Sting in a two-against-one position at Hard Justice -- which is to say, it's not about Styles getting a title shot, it's about helping good ol' Sting. Hmm.

Scott Steiner vs Brother Ray: Respective tag partners accompanying here. This is no DQ so the partners run in pretty early. Team 3D gets the upper hand -- and a table -- but are distracted by the British Invasion. Steiner & Booker double slam Ray through the table and Scott pins him.

Contract signing between Kevin Nash and Mick Foley for the Legends Title at Hard Justice. I pretty much FFWDed through this. At the end Mick Foley hurls himself through the table -- because no contract signing segment is complete without someone going through the table -- while Nash looks on incredulously. Tough night for tables tonight.

AJ Styles vs. Matt Morgan: This is the final match in their Best of Three series to determine who gets into the title match at Hard Justice with Sting and Kurt Angle. Angle came down with Morgan and Sting with Styles, by the way.

Good match, although, again, I like the little things that Morgan does more than I like the whole deal. Another example: AJ got Morgan in a Figure 4 early on, and Morgan kept selling the leg throughout the match. He still dominated, though -- Styles started off strong with a somersault dive to the outside (clearing the top rope completely and landing on his feet!) but once Morgan got the upper hand, he kept it for a long time.

Styles eventually turns things around, briefly, when he ducks the Carbon Footprint in the corner; Morgan jars his leg, slamming his boot against the turnbuckle. Morgan decides to go up the turnbuckle, slowly -- he's selling! -- and Styles crotches him and then PELÉS HIM OFF THE TURNBUCKLE. Nevertheless, finally, Morgan hits the Carbon Footprint -- flipping Styles all the way around! -- for the pin.

The whole Main Event Mafia is out to congratulate Morgan. (Taz and Nash are pretty funny standing next to each other, like the world's worst Simon and Garfunkel impersonators.) Angle says that Morgan is in the Mafia if he just does them one more favor...Morgan says he's not going to hand the title match at Hard Justice over to Angle -- he's not going to throw away the only chance he may get! Angle is stunned -- stunned -- to be treated this way, so disrespectfully.

I head AJ was injuried, so that might have to do with Morgan being in the main event. If that is not the case, this is a bad idea. Morgan doesn't have it. He has the build, some charisma and size, but no one really cares about him or is interested in him. The rest of the PPV card is just ok. It does seem they are trying to create new stars with this PPV which I am all.

You fast forwarded his awesome interview where he said that a match between him and Angle would be the best wrestler in the world vs. the best MMA fighter in the world?? I guess apparently he is going to transform into GSP or Anderson Silva before the match starts.

I don't mind throwing Morgan into the main event with two veterans that can still wrestle like Kurt and Sting. My only problem is if AJ isn't injured then why the hell isn't he on the card. And Daniels is thrown in the X Division match. Shouldn't one of them at least be taking on Eric Young for betraying TNA? I'd take that over Holliday/Abyss.

The PPV could be pretty good. The problem is if the matches are in order of how they are listed on TNA's website then Steiner and Booker/3D and Foley/Nash are going to be 2 of the three last matches with the main event. That could be a horrible last hour if the main event isn't good. Still, Hernandez/Rob, Invasion/Beer Money, X Division match, Women's match and Joe/Homicide all in a row could be fun.

Also nobody mentioned it so I will. "The Pope" D'Angelo Dinero (Elijah Burke) is also making his debut at the PPV.

Wait, which is which? I thought they were both the best at both those things!

Wikipedia says AJ's expecting another child, so maybe he just wants the time off.

God, yes. Hey, wait, Eric's not on the card either? Weird. Yeah, I like Abyss, but I could go my whole life and never see Holliday again and it'd be soon enough. This should be preshow stuff.

Oh, yeah! They said on TV that he would be in the Steel Asylum match, I think. Which is good -- the X Division needs a shot in the arm, and if it takes ex-WWEers to do that, so be it.
