We start out with three (THREE!) angles in a row! The James Gang take Eric Young under their wing! Brother Runt and Abyss have a confrontation (I love that the crowd chants along with "DOOOOOMSDAAY!")! Joe vs. Rhino makes Monty feel left out!

Sonjay Dutt vs. Johnny Devine vs. Petey Williams vs. Shark Boy: By-the-numbers X Division stuff. Petey hasn't gotten any new ring gear yet. Why is Shark Boy even here? Oh, that's right, to eat the pin.

Runt challenges Abyss to a match -- "anytime, anywhere!" Perhaps, coincidentally, this will end up being a match at Hard Justice!

Sabin gets "pepped up" by Jerry Lynn. Primal scream therapy! Sabin: "AUUUGGHHHH." Lynn: "AUUUGHHHHHHHHH." Sabin and Nash have a match at Hard Justice -- the winner GETS AN X DIVISION TITLE SHOT! Man, I think I might be rooting for Nash.

Christian Cage want to apologize to Sting, and wants to be in Sting's corner at HD. Sting appears in the rafters and DRAMATICALLY says "Yeah, maybe. Lemme think about it."

LAX promo = awesome. GRINGO KILLA!

James Gang & Eric Young vs. AMW & A1: Eric Young is now announced as "presently residing at an undisclosed location." This is ALLLL angle -- Young doesn't want to fight A1, A1 seems a little reluctant to fight Young, AMW has yet more miscommunication, Young pins A1 with a fluke rollup. I'm going to get bored with this pretty quick if Young's only offensive move continues to be sticking his tongue out the corner of his mouth.

PAPARAZZI PRODUCTIONS: The Madagascarian wrestlers -- Blue Cross #6 and Somalian Joe, guys in masks -- are here! Nash: "They look like crackheads." Shelley demonstrates some wacky lucha chain stuff and has Nash try it; Nash is all, "like this?" and clubs the guy in the back of the neck. Devine does some lucha submission stuff; Nash clubs the guy in the back of the neck. Then Nash says he can do a TRIPLE-SOMERSAULT MOONSAULT and insists on showing off. Shelley: "Are you sure this is a good idea?" Nash: "Yeah, I'm pretty sure." Nash PULLS IT OFF~~!!! but the camera unfortunately misses it.

Roode promo -- next week he starts auditioning managers. Eh, whee.

Rhino vs. Samoa Joe: Good-if-standard-fare from these guys as they play some one-upmanship. Monty comes out to watch and ends up dragging Rhino out and brawling on the floor -- Joe dives out and takes them out! Rhino and Joe go up the ramp -- Rhino brings out a table and props it up, on end, in front of the entrance. He's going to gore Joe through it! NO -- Monty's here and throws Rhino back down the ramp -- Joe hits Monty with an enziguiri and starts to choke him out -- and Rhino GORES BOTH OF THEM THROUGH THE TABLE and down the tunnel!

Wow, that was a fun ending! It's another no contest but I can't complain about it. Obviously they're setting up a three-way for Hard Justice (I'm going to guess that there might be a Monty vs. Joe no-contest on the next Impact) -- the question remains, who takes the fall? All three of these guys are on a roll right now -- my gut says Joe pins Monty, but is that too obvious?

And you?

I could get tired quickly of Eric Young's schtick if he doesn't keep it fresh, but for now it's fun. I liked A1's reactions to fighting Eric and the sense of betrayal he showed when he got rolled up.

I know that Brother Runt's recycling his old 'Giant-Killer' gimmick, but I didn't see alot of ECW 1.0 and I pretty much missed his entire run in WWE too, so I'm entertained by the angle. It's not a rerun if you haven't seen it, right?

I hate Konnan with a passion. That doesn't mean that I don't like his character and I want to see him get beat up. That means that I don't want to see him on my TV. Ever. Having said that, I could get into the LAX v. Daniels/Styles match if they work half as hard as I think they will.

Kevin Nash? He stuns me into apathy. It doesn't matter who he wrestles. It doesn't matter what the angle is. Kevin Nash bores me to tears.

I'm less than entertained by Monty's promos, but a Monty/Rhino/Joe three-way would rock pretty hard. Even though the end of tonight's match was screwy, it was still a pretty good build up for the PPV match without leaving a bad taste in my mouth.

All told, even the bad parts weren't that bad. Good show.

Aside from the 8,000 mentions that Joe v. Rhyno was a 'PPV quality match,' I enjoyed the show. What bugs me when they hype that up is that this implies that every other week is boring old crap that isn't worth spending your money on. It's doubly distressing to hype up a match as PPV worthy then have it go some 12 minutes and end in a schmozz.

I also don't like that Eric Young has gone from funny paranoid to the new Heidenreich. When did he get retarded?

That aside, fun show. Amazing video package for LAX. Reminds me of the best days of the nWo. They need to RUN with those guys, have them become the lead heels. I feel like an idiot, I just realized over the weekend that Hotstuff Hernandez in LAX was the guy that impressed me so much in ROH a while back.

Good stuff from Nash and co. as they continue to just bury the X-Division. Lynn and Sabin come across as minor league jobbers next to he charisma wattage coming off Nash, Shelley and Devine.

This may be my fave angle of the year, but have we noticed how less important the X-division has become since the angle started?

A bit too much of the former Team Canada as management likes them more than WE do. A-1 came across quite sympathetic tonight.

I assume Roode is gonna end up with Traci Brooks, too. So, how good is he? I haven't seen a lot of his stuff, but I haven't been blown away.

Jarrett had a really good video package too. They've really made the Sting/Jarrett match seem climactic.

Not overly blown away with the wrestling, but TNA is ruling the world with the promos and videos.

I didn't get the implication that he hit the move; it looked like he just kind of flopped onto the guy in a big lumbering way. Also funny was his comment afterwards that he thought he just injured something. They are really doing well with the Kevin Nash self-parody stuff; I just hope it ends with the X DIVISION REIGNING SUPREME~!

Also, I am with Karlos in that, if this ends up in Nash fighting Senshi/Low-Ki for the X Division Title, I wouldn't mind seeing Nash go over Sabin.

Somolian Joe was too funny. The Nash-Shelley skits are still can't miss stuff. I also enjoyed the Roode promo, it looks like he may be pushed as a legit player. My only complaint is that the hype for the Joe-Rhino main event only produced about 4 minutes of airtime.

Shelley and Nash are the best things on wrestling TV right now. Here's the "Director's Cut", which just as funny as their other videos:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=chb8DjmjnCY&search=kevin%20nash%2C%20alex%20shelley

Favourite lines:

Shelley: "Does the Garden even hold 29,000 people?"

Nash: (after long pause) "They did that night."

Kevin Kelly: "Mr. Austin, would you like to comment on Wade Keller's Take that endorsing the XFL hurts your anti-authority character?"

Steve Austin: "Oh shit, he actually said that? I thought the boys in the back were ribbing me!"

Kelly: "No, he really said that. Did they tell you the part about you sitting in the stands, looking all skeptical?"

Austin: "AHAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah... oh man that was too much."

Not quite sure if this has so much to do with the Nash angle, as with the fact that they focused on Joe/AJ/Daniels for most of the past year and when they took all three of them out, they were left with "unknowns"
It seems they have no real clue for a feud or challenger for Senshi. Weird..
Ofcourse it might have to do with having only 1 hour a week and they are already filling it up with various feuds, that involve a bunch of x-style guys (Lax-AJ/Daniels, the Nash thing, last week Jay Lethal's great match, etc etc)

*sigh* Why bother?

Well, the Paparazzi were claiming that Nash hit the move, so I thought I should play along.

And, yeah, I'd actually be interested in seeing Senshi vs. Nash. I don't know if it's the booking or if it's Sabin himself (probably some of each), but I just don't know if Sabin is the guy that can rally the crowd around him -- and, if he does pull it off and beat Nash, I'm not sure that he's a guy that can run with that win and get himself on a higher plane.

Problem is, if Nash beats him, he looks like a world-class chump.

Well, the challenger's either Nash or Sabin -- but yeah, the fact that it's all going down without Senshi's involvement or concern or, you know, presence is kinda strange.

Don't expect your reaction to change too much. I think Roode's competent enough but awfully boring.

I'm hoping Nash passes by Sabin and wrestles Low Ki too. Low Ki gets some good support from the crowd so maybe he can atleast get fan support, unlike Sabin who is getting pretty much no reaction against Nash. Hopefully Low Ki beats Nash since that's how this angle needs to end. Then after that I wouldn't be surprised if Lethal gets an X Title feud after his great World Title Match.

Roode is a decent enough wrestler that he can put on a good match with another good wrestler. His problem is that he's pretty boring on the mic. They're atleast trying with him with this Ravishing-lite angle. Maybe Traci can add something, she's not exactly a great talker herself, but some eye candy could help his gimmick, and maybe her interfering in matches can help him get some heat.

I would expect Traci to just distract attention from Roode. Roode needs a runt of a manger who's got a loud mouth and annoying voice. That sounds like a description of Scott D'Amore...

Roode has never gotten much of a crowd reaction... and I can't see how they'll ever get him one through booking.

Roode's also fairly generic and without a killer finisher.

Coach Nash v2 is so good I want to buy an orange shirt for the first time in my life.

SABIN needs a manager. Not Lynn. Lynn needs a manager. Man I wish Heenan could get his voice back.

Don't Fire Eric shirts are going to be HUGE. And if TNA doesn't make them, we'll have the next Jericho Personal Security on our hands.

I think I would have liked this show a lot more if they hadn't had Monty Brown in the third fucking segment explaining how he was going to ruin the finish of the fucking main event. I mean, it's not like anyone really thought they were going to give away a clean finish to Rhino/Joe on free tv, but it really takes the steam out of a contest when they tell you something like that ahead of the fact. Overall, the whole show was a big step down from last week.

Roode definitely needs a manager who's a good talker more than he needs eye candy. I mean, it's not like Michael Shane/Matt Bentley got crazy over with her or anything.

You know, this whole "free agent looking for a manager" thing is very similar to what they did with Randy Savage in the WWF. I wonder if they'll go the same route (have a number of prospective managers court him only for him to bring in his own). If that doesn't happen, Scott D'Amore's the only logical choice I can think of (and they'd have to explain what loophole would allow two former Team Canada members to align again), since James Mitchell doesn't fit with the direction they seem to want to take Roode. Other than those two and Traci, who else would be in the running?

On a semi-related note...they really should've brought Cornette back as a manager. I mean, why not? The guy can still cut great heel promos and would be much more beneficial in that role than as their equivalent of Teddy Long.

While I agree that it's going to take a lot to get Bobby Roode over, I will give TNA credit in trying to create another singles star.

TNA had an annoying, loudmouth pipsqueak manager-type in Johnny Fairplay, but that went nowhere.

Hmmm...interesting question. I guess Shane Douglas is technically in the managing business now, but I don't think he'd fit well. Simon Diamond would be a good choice for someone to make a pitch to Roode and get rejected, seeing how he's managed to take his Diamonds in the Rough absolutely nowhere. Maybe Zybyzko wants to get into managing to get back at Raven and/or the TNA management who kind of shunted him aside? I can't really think of anyone else, but I suppose they could go outside the company.

Or this could be where they're going with the whole Slick Johnson thing. *shudder*

I'd be surprised if we didn't get an appearance from Jimmy Hart.

We might even see Bobby Heenan (he's already appeared in TNA, briefly).

Not true that Bentley didn't get over with Traci, despite them trying hard to push Bentley as a heel he always gets big face reactions from his days with Traci, just two weeks ago they were chanting for Bentley over the Naturals who were supposed to be the faces in the match. Traci is pretty much THE diva to the TNA fans.
