Samoa Joe is in the ring, and a bevy of TNA Wrestlers are outside of it. Joe makes an announcement concerning the KING OF THE MOUNTAIN match at Slammiversary (Sunday, June 8th on PPV!) -- he wanted to be able to choose his own four opponents, but Jim Cornette wanted to choose them himself. Here's the compromise: Jim picked four, Joe will pick four, and they're going to have tournament matches to determine which four go the KotM match.

Jim's four are: Robert Roode, James Storm, Tomko, and Matt Morgan. Joe will announce his four next week -- he wants the baddest sons-of-bitches around, and he's going to do some scouting this week. Booker T comes out and "suggests" that Joe should choose him. Then he punches Joe in the head (someone here is not a Dale Carnegie devotee). Brawl! Rhino and Christian Cage chase Booker off; Booker challenges them to a 6-man match tonight!

Johnny Devine & The Rock N' Rave Infection vs. Kaz, Jay Lethal & Sonjay Dutt: Jay is clean shaven and has the cornrows back. This was a really fun match -- for three minutes. End came out of nowhere with Kaz pinning Hoyt after a front dropkick. Wow, too fast. Hopefully Kaz's win will lead to him being one of Joe's picks.

Lethal gets SoCal Val in the ring and, down on one knee (and in Macho Man character), asks her to marry him -- at Slammiversary! Val says, "Ohhhhh Yeeeeaahh!!!" Dutt, standing behind them, looks shattered.

Video of Abyss in an INSANE ASYLUM, where he is in a straitjacket and is rocking back and forth. I skipped through this; I assume he says something about how much he loves Beefaroni.

Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong: This is for the Knockout Championship! Good match with the exception of a couple of really obvious flubs -- there's a blown huracanrana and a blown arm drag -- but overall good stuff. Most of the other knockouts come out to watch. Kong is dominant and is just beating Kim down, but Kim's never-say-die pluckiness serves her well and she finally gets Kong on the ropes, taking her down and giving her a senton -- taking her down again with a dropkick -- Kim goes up top but Angelina Love shoves her off and Kim lands badly on her knee. Awesome Bomb finishes it.

After the match, Salinas, ODB, and Traci Brooks are all in the ring -- Kim is clutching her knee. Mike Tenay and Don West tell us later that she's going to be out of action for some time. Love has now caused Roxxi's head to be shaved and put Kim on the shelf -- she's evil!

Kurt Angle is in the ring and reads an awesome speech to his wife, telling her that he will take her back as long as she can understand his priorities: 1) The TNA Title; 2) His Gold Medals; 3) The Kids; and 4) Her. "Well, officially, you'd be third, because you take care of the kids." Ha ha! "Am I the romantic type? No, you know that. That's for 'wussies' -- pardon the expression." "I'm willing to be the bigger person and forgive you for your mistakes -- or, in a nicer way to put it -- your failures as a wife." He does this all straight into the camera with these huge, sincere puppy eyes.

(Unfortunately, Spike threw a commercial into it accidentally and cuts off the end. GEEZ, SPIKE.)

Motor City Machineguns vs. LAX: This is non-title but LAX wins anyway -- apparently the gringo cutter off Hernandez's shoulders is now called the "5150." MMG looked pretty good but are really treading water.

Eric Young is hitchhiking to Memphis, I think to search for Super Eric. A guy in a Lucha mask picks him up. Um. Um. Um.

The Beautiful People vs. ODB and Roxxi Laveaux: Roxxi comes out with ODB and gets no entrance theme -- I guess they're going to give her something new, but c'mon, you've had some time to work on that. Roxxi has dumped all the Voodoo Queen look, opting instead for a goth-y mesh shirt, short skirt, and fishnets. She looks like Sinead O'Connor-as-Suicide Girl, and awfully gawky.

You know, I was really hoping that the head-shaving would fuel Roxxi's dark-sided rage and she would come out here and just mess people up, but it seems like another day at the office, pretty much. They should bring in a couple of jobbers and let Roxxi tear through them. Bring back Alexa Jade!

Anyway, some cool stuff -- Sky gets an octopus hold, but has to drop it when Roxxi just walks her over to the corner to get the tag. The Beautiful People, however, get the win when Love kicks ODB into Sky's sunset flip.

Team 3D & Booker T vs. Samoa Joe, Christian Cage, & Rhino: Not bad -- there's a great sequence where Joe finally gets tagged in and he just KILLS BOTH Ray and Devon and then invites Booker into the ring -- Booker is clearly reluctant. This turns into a brawl but soon it's just Joe and Devon -- Joe hits the superfast powerslam for the win.

Afterward, Team 3D grab Hector Guerrero from the Spanish Announce Table and start beating him down -- payback for Sacrifice, where Hector foiled their devious plans. They beat him into the back -- through LAX's entrance! -- while Booker holds back the faces with a chair. Our Heroes rally and chase 3D and Booker off -- Hector is unconscious and busted open! (LAX was nowhere to be seen. Plot point or oversight?)

Overall, I thought it was a pretty good show -- I could have done with some longer matches and with a more badass Roxxi, but I can't complain too much.

I felt that Tenay and West really dropped the ball when they didn't mention Sonjay's misery even once, despite the fact that the camera focused on him like 5 times during the segment.

I liked a lot of things about this show.
- I like the two entrances so heels and faces can come out on different sides.
- TWO women's matches. I think this is a good thing. TNA doesn't need to oversaturate the women but having Kong vs. Challenger and Beautiful Women vs. Roxxi going on at once is good.
- Booker T hasn't been handled very well so far but like Christian they had to bring him in as a face for the pop but he's now much better as a heel. I also hope the Booker/Team 3D alliance is a regular thing.
- The new "Cross the Line" promos are pretty slick.
- The proposal segment was awesome. They did it exactly like Macho/Liz and Sonjay's reaction was great.
- Good matches, but too short. Kim/Kong, LAX/MCMG, Booker/Team 3D vs. Christian/Rhino/Joe, Roxxi/ODB vs. Beautiful People and Kaz/Lethal/Sonjay vs. Rock N' Rave N' Devine. This card would've been a better show than the PPV if the matches were longer.
- I like Hoyt's Hat.

What i didn't like
- Too many non-wrestling segments. I know that there has to be some kind of story but Joe's announcement, Kurt's speech, Eric's segment, Sting interview and the Abyss segment were too much. Couldn't SOME of that wait until next week?
- As the Angle Turns was AWFUL. If it weren't for those Cross the Line promos somebody should've been sacked.
- Hernandez trimmed the facial hair. ;( I liked the Yosemite Sam look.

I'm looking forward to Slammiversary my guess is it will look something like...
KOTM - Joe vs. Booker vs. Christian vs. two of Cornette's choices.
AJ vs. Kurt Angle
LAX vs. Team 3D
Kong vs. ???
Beautiful People vs. Roxxi/???
Kaz vs. Petey?
Sonjay turns full heel during Lethal/So Cal wedding
