Another alright show this week, due due a focus on the in-ring stuff and a lack of illogical, boneheaded angles. Hooray!

Scott Steiner vs. Homicide vs. Devon: This is a preview of the 3-way Tag Title match at Sacrifice. Devon has Ray with him, Homicide has Hernandez and Konnan and Machete, and Steiner is alone -- where's Tomko? Homicide and Steiner team up against Devon for most of the match, until Homicide stupidly turns on Steiner. Steiner ends up getting distracted by Ray and brawling up the ramp, so, while the ref is distracted my Machete at ringside, Hernandez runs in and Border Tosses Devon, allowing Homicide to get the pin. Homicide continues to be portrayed as basically ineffective.

JB is in the back waiting on Christy Hemme -- Steiner walks past and is pissed off that he didn't get the pin. Where was Tomko? Rick would have had his back! Hemme shows up to announce that she's going to announce something in the ring -- VKM are welcome to come out and listen if they like.

And here she is in the ring. VKM come out to listen to -- OHHH they're blindsided by...BASHAM and DAMAJA. (Doug) Basham still has the shaved head, while (Danny Basham) Damaja has a frat-boy haircut. They're in street clothes. They lay out VKM with chair shots until Lance Hoyt comes out to chase them off.

JB again, with an angry Bob Backlund -- Sabin and Shelley stole his "book" last week and he is mad. He leaves and Nash, Machismo, and Dutt stop buy. Machismo cuts a quick promo and Dutt is a little put off.

Sonjay Dutt & Black Machismo Jay Lethal vs. Alex Shelley & Chris Sabin: Shelley and Sabin continue to bring on some nice double team moves. Dutt rallies and takes down Sabin -- Lethal wants the elbow but Dutt waves him off -- this allows Shelley to sneak in and hit the Celtic Cross (or whatever) on Dutt for the pin.

After the match, Backlund is out and manhandles S&S -- there's a scoop slam for Shelley and an Atomic Drop for Sabin. They flee. Don West -- bless his heart -- says that S&S are too tired from the match to fight off Backlund.

3-way interview with Christian Cage, Sting, and Kurt Angle -- each of them is in a separate location. Sting is talking to Christopher Daniels, and tells him he doesn't have time for this right now, and casually shoves him out of frame. Sting and Angle argue about who deserves the title shot while Cage eggs them both on, like The Man With No Name, except more obsequious.

Chris Harris, Samoa Joe, & Rhino vs. AJ Styles, Christopher Daniels, & James Storm: Gail Kim and Jackie Moore are out here as well -- man, earlier this taping Jackie got two teeth knocked out, and here she is again? She's hardcore. This is a preview of three singles matches coming up at Sacrifice -- Storm/Harris, Styles/Joe, and Daniels/Rhino. Wow, Joe really is just running in place now. Storm rolls up Harris for the win. Pretty good match between a bunch of guys who are suspended in amber, angle-wise -- finish demonstrates that, since Storm and Harris are the only ones with a story going on.

Finally, Angle and Sting come out, brawling, while Cage watches with amusement.

Final card for Sacrifice:
-Basham & Damaja vs. VKM
-Tiger Mask (!!!) vs. Senshi vs. Jerry Lynn vs. Alex Shelley
-Robert Roode vs. Jeff Jarrett
-AJ Styles vs. Samoa Joe
-Rhino vs. Christopher Daniels
-Texas Death Match: James Storm vs. Chris Harris
-X-Division Title Match: Chris Sabin vs. Black Machismo vs. Sonjay Dutt
-Tag Title Match: 3D vs. LAX vs. Tomko and Steiner
-World Title Match: Christian Cage vs. Sting vs. Kurt Angle

Decent show today. Why is Homicide booked so horribly? Outiside of the incredible, but too short Daniels/Styles feud, has Homicide done anything other than stomp, throw punches, and pin the person after a Border Toss or Konnan interference? So is Rick Steiner going to show up once Tomko gets blamed when they don't win the titles?

I didn't realize how much I missed the Last Impression until (damn it, can't remember which guy does it) I saw it again. And unlike Kip, BG took his chair shot like a fuckin' man.

X-Division Tag was probably the best match and I so want Dutt to win the title on Sunday. I haven't seen him wrestle since, what Kevin Nash showed up? I forgot how fun his offense is. Now when he turns heel, please don't completely neuter him. Have him do something fancy, but fuss at the crowd afterwards. I know he can't wrestle exactly the same because people will pop for cool moves, but please don't turn him into punchy-kicky-run away-then win with a roll up, like almost every heel in WWE is.

Mainevent was fine, but it just seemed underwhelming given the talent involved.

Cena can't be beat because he's some unholy genetic recombinate of superstars past. I mean, you might as well call him John "Realest of the Real, Sargent Rock - Cold - A - Mania" Cena.

Did you not catch Michael Cole's pop culture references as he strutted back the announce booth triumphantly? "NXT without Michael Cole is like Bristol Palin trying to dance. Bad." Michael Cole is hip to pop culture!
