They were both against one of the most exciting NCAA Championship games in recent history...and if TNA goes back to a 9PM start they will be back to .6 asap.

Given the ratings the Knockout get, they should really just pack it up, move to back to Thursdays, can Hogan and the idiots, and reboot the whole damn thing with just X-Division and Knockouts.

It's a guaranteed 1.2-1.4 on Thursdays that would be different from the WWE, remain profitable, and not die.

For further discussion...how deep is the Dixie Carter pocket?

I mean, they have to have burnt through quite some cash since the Hogan takeover right?

How much is too much?

As the guy who called it, I get to point out that its success would have had almost nothing to do with the content, and everything to do with the participants.

And no, ratings are not all that matters, unless there is a chance of cancellation. Particularly in a time where all expenses have shot up (expensive personnel, live tapings). Particularly when those awesome ratings would have been a disappointment on Thursday. Particularly when causing Raw to lose viewers (which they didn't, it was the basketball game) gives TNA exactly zero dollars.

I got nothin' but here's Andrew Stockdale of Wolfmother and Holiday Sidewinder of somewhere (actually indy band Bridezilla) doing a cover of Leather & Lace.

What's the over / under on this being more entertaining than the upcoming match?

cheers

Sing this special song. It's just for you.
I wish Vince would pluck the Radicalz 2.0 from TNA. MCMG, Daniels, Wolfe, all deserve better than this. They should take Daffney when they leave too since the Divas division is now less stupid than the Knockouts booking. Isn't that one of the seals in Revelations?

Impact is moving to an 8PM start time permanently with a 9PM Thursday replay, according to Dixie Carter.

Good move by them, but it's been done before by WCW, and the reason it worked for them is because they had something TNA doesn't have yet. They had an angle that people cared about, and something that was fresh at the time. TNA still hasn't figured out exactly who or what they are, and seems reluctant to take any big risks in the way the show is run or written. They should have held off until the new regime was more established and knew what direction they were going. Then it would have been a bigger deal and a bigger threat.

Daniels has already left, and Wolfe had an opportunity to sign with WWE and chose TNA, there was some problem with his health that WWE didn't like if I recall.

Good. I hope this is the start of them focusing on what it will take to make TNA better and less on the "war" with the WWE. Like I said earlier they have the potential to be a great wrestling company, and they have all the right pieces to make that happen, now it's time to start building towards that.

I agree - I think they're too focused in using their "big names" (Hall, Hogan, Flair, etc) to try and make an immediate impact against WWE rather then letting the audience gravitate naturally to the product. If they could simply lose the instant gratification theory and focus on building for the future with some of the younger guys, then that would be perfect. I think it's honestly a much better plan to try and take away some of the audience watching RoH rather then WWE since, let's face it, the WWE has a pretty loyal audience and they're not going to switch to something else right away.

It's clear that the WWE is going in a different direction then TNA anyway, it doesn't make any sense to directly try to emulate WWE. I cringe every time I see TNA trying to out sports entertain WWE or turn the Knockouts division into a WWE style Diva division. I just think "no, no.. WHY are you doing this? You were on track and now you've gotten sidetracked..."

I wonder if we'll ever see any special events where a "live" show will be broadcast on Thursday rather then the replay on certain weeks.

Karlos, I just want to echo what others have already said and thank you for your weekly recaps. I've enjoyed reading them over the last few years. I liken you to a concerned parent, watching their child grow up and forced to stick by them come what may.

Perhaps TNA is hitting its juvenile delinquent years, with Hogan being the creepy uncle leading it astray?

The problem is not only is TNA trying to copy the WWE but the WWE is doing a better job of doing what TNA needs to do. Not everybody likes Sheamus and Swagger but they've both had World Titles in the first few months of the year. Punk was pushed, even though it wasn't a great push, same for Dibiase and Rhodes. Cena, Triple H, etc will always be at the top but the WWE is at least letting other guys visit.

The more and more I think about TNA the more I wish they would pull the trigger on Pope winning the title, but it isn't going to happen. The title will stay on AJ until Hogan, Sting or Jarrett decide they want it.

Wow, what is Heenan wearing there? And is that really the official poster or cover art they used for the show?
