I remember watching him and Peter Popoff numerous times during late night TV ... About 4 years ago I think, in a drunken stupor with a friend of mine, we called up Popoff and asked for our free miracle spring water. It arrived with the instructions.
If memory serves you had to sleep on the packet of water, pray hard, wake up, drink the water, pray, and send him $7 (American!). There were other steps I'm sure I've forgotten (perhaps praying), but that was the jist of it.
A few weeks later, I got mustard seeds. I had to pray and do various things with these too, as well as send $25.
This continued with varied amounts (and a detailed explanation every time in relation to the amount of money). He never got a dime out of me, but the cheap presents were always good for a laugh, to the point I actually began eagerly anticipating his letters.
Popoff has been systematically destroyed a few times by skeptics who have proved how his "voice from God" works. There are Youtube vids which are fantastic. Don Stewart flies a little more below the radar but it's the same idea. | Oliver
