...if they would include a playable N64 game with every 4th issue.

Can you imagine? If they can easily do this with the Cube (and I think OoT shows they can) they could easily hook me.

Think about it -- you No Mercy fans could get a (maybe even an updated) version for your Cube...

Mario Kart 64 (one of the best games ever).

Mario 64

GoldenEye.

Oh........ they need to do something like this. I am so bad, I've already sent email to them begging for Kart to get re-released on the Cube.

I totally agree. I was watching the "promo" movies on my OoT disk and I just thought that if Nintendo ran their entire ad campaign for the Gamecube like THIS, Sony would be eating dust. All the commercials on TV are DULL, BORING... they don't inspire me to buy games at all. The only games I have been really gung ho about were the "sequels" to old games.
What about capturing the "old school Nintendo Excitement?" I mean, look how they pretty much trashed the potential of "Mario Sunshine." I HATED the whole concept of that game... I was really hoping for something a lot closer to Mario 64.
How about more emphasis on past titles? A new Mario Kart, a new verion of DK64- Nintendo Power releasing a Gamecube version of an N64 game every 4 issues, the Gamecube itself coming with a disk that includes the original Smash Bros and Mario Kart, Metroid and Zelda should have been released in the first 6 months for crying out loud!
I hope Nintendo sees a huge boost in sales because of OoT and catches a clue... I feel like my Cube has been wasted...

Not that restraint when posting in a "public" forum isn't a good thing...

I think putting all the old school games on the enw system is great. I have a Dreamcast disc a friend gave me that has all the NEW games on it (you heard me everyone of them), and that getsmore play then a lot of PS2 games that are much newer. Though for a lot of the games I am not in agreement of updating them, I think they are fine just the way they are.

As a proud owner of every Nintendo system available, yes even the Virtual Boy, and all around Nintendo freak for life, I couldn't agree more with an idea along these lines. Free being the best idea, or as an incentive to get you to buy another game, but at the same rate I'd pay to have any number of classic Nintendo games ported over onto a Cube disk. The thought alone of a Mario disk starting with 1 through at least Super Mario World brings an instant smile to my face.

Well seeing as how they're already coming out with sequals to their games (like a new Mario Kart, Tennis, and Golf) why not just ship a bonus disk with the old version just like with Zelda? I think that would be great.

Of course, you're never going to see original Zelda get its own disk, because it's in Animal Crossing.

The Legend Of Zelda is in Animal Crossing. It is one of three hidden games (Along with Mario and Ice Climbers). As of right now there is no official way to get these three games (punch-out I donít not call a hidden game since it is in the Animal Crossing plays guild). An unofficial way to get these games is to buy a Action Replay which comes of very soon if not now.

Sounds like Nintendo could make some easy money off of retro games.
Imagine a Gamecube disc that had all the old original NES titles...Metroid, Zelda, Zelda II, Ice Climber, Gumshoe, Excitebike, Punch Out, KID FREAKIN' ICARUS...
I would buy it, my brothers. You would buy it. Nintendo would make zillions.

But... here's the thing. It's quite obvious from Animal Crossing (which is an N64 port) and Ocarina of Time (which is an N64 port) that they can already either port the code over to cube, or better yet - they have an emulator coded for the Cube. Inside Animal Crossing, they have already shown their NES 8 bit emulator with the bonus games. If they can do both of these, the Super Nintendo is really not that much of a stretch - it's less complex than the N64, right?

I don't see where the cost is for them if they already own the ROMS and have the emus written. Hell, if they need the ROMS, it looks like some of you guys in this forum are handing them out... (against my wishes! *grumble*)

(Did I mention, yet again, that you should not do this here?)

//edit: WAIT WAIT WAIT I missed a deal to get a free game by subscribing to Nintenod Power? Where was this deal? Can I stll get it? DAMMIT.
