What's that guy been up to lately anyway? Heard that he's been involved with the XWF and I think maybe that hardcore promotion in Cali, XPW or something? Anyway, I kinda wonder why his name is never brought up in regards to the WWF. He was one of my favorite guys in WCW and I'd love to see him again, even if it were at a WWA show.
"Look at these morose motherf*ckers right here. Smells like someone took a sh*t in their cereal. BOOOONG!" --Holden McNeil
I pretty much lost all respect for Vampiro the night he showed up at an XWF show in Green Bay (using the NAWF ring), in a 3-way main event with Bagwell and Henning...referee'd by ex-WCW'er Mickey J.
It started with your typical heel disagreement between Bagwell and Henning as to who was more over with the crowd at the Brown County Arena. But then comes Vampiro, who comes out and says, "Neither of you guys are as famous as Mickey J..." and he gets the ref on the turnbuckle to a big ol' pop. I nearly puked in my seat.
Granted, he did a nice legdrop (?) off a railing about 8 feet up...but I'll never take him or the XWF seriously again.
Two words: Oy vey.
Star wipe, and...we're out. Thrillin' ain't easy. . . THE THRILL ACW-TV...er, Home Video Technical Director...and Circle Too 4 Life!
Leech: I believe Vamp had a bust up with Rob Black and won't work for XPW again (and I'm pleased about that, the sooner XPW folds for good the better and if "name" talent won't work with Black it'll be sooner rather than later). I always liked Vampiro and he deserves better than XPW so hopefully he'll get a better offer from a more professional outfit somewhere down the line.
I also heard he has shaved his dreads off, can anyone confirm this? I can't imagine a bald Vampiro. It was in Power Slam that despite the fact it would have made him major money to lose a hair match in Mexico, he wanted a new look on his own terms and without someone making a name off of him but it could just be rumour presented as fact...
"Nobody enjoys a good time more than I do, but this business of yours is as legitimate as a three-legged donkey...which of course is illegitimate because as we all know donkeys have four legs."
Vamp was last seen (with a shaved head) in Peutro Rico working an angle where Chicky Starr "exposed" wrestling as fake, so Vamp and Calros Calon beat up a talk show host. Or something. I dunno, it's PR and they have wrestling mummies. Vamp works pretty much anywhere that will book him, which is kind of sad considering that he has more concussions to his name than Alex Wright and Spike Dudley combined. He's gonna wind up like Joe Frasier at this rate, except a lot more broke.
RandomWrestling:Like fantasy booking but, ya know, less crappy.
Vampiro appeared here in Houston at an indy show about a month and a half ago. Its true he shaved his dreads . I think someone mentioned him appearing in mexico recently but i missed that.

Did you attend that show? I heard the OKLASTAMPED™ Steve Williams was there as well. Oh, to interview that man...

Actually travis I did attend that show and Dr Death was also there. Unfortunetly, Buff Bagwell also made an appearance. The show with eddie guerrero was much better.

I actually saw him last weekend over here in Puerto Rico against Carly Colon (Carlos Colon son), and he looked pretty damn good, in fact he was so convincing that wrestling "fans" of the area waited for him outside to beat the crap out of him...i tell you sometimes we live wrestling to much hehe.
Couple of pics from this weekend: Click Here Click Here Yes, that's Ricky Santana as special ref. Click Here Carlos Colon and barbed wire, never gets old. Click Here Muta who?
On the other "angle" that Travis was talking about, it was actually a real thing because in a symposium they had at a local university, Chicky Starr said that wrestling was a "sport entertainment" with planned spots and pre-written endings. This bothered Carlos Colon and the rest of the WWC, because they still say wrestling is real and want the fans to treat WWC like a legitamate sport. IWA (where chicky starr wrestles, and a WWF minor league) has been kickin WWC's ass lately so they need all the publicity they can muster.
What I keep hearing (in Torch Talks, mostly) is that Vince takes pride in *not* giving any credit for a wrestler's position in another fed. Each guy has to find his place in the WWF from scratch.
