at this party last night, the wild eyed southern boys got brought up and me being the big geek was all "hell yeah, steve armstrong, tracy smothers. effing awesome.' and this girl i casually know got all wide-eyed and was like "that's my dad." hilarious. it led to this long talk. there's a fuckton of wrestlers living on the gulfcoast.
so, question: any meetings with wrestlers in a non-wrestling show setting?
in july 03 i ran into a lot of the smackdown guys at sammy's after a taping. i sent a write up of it to hyatte actually. the main highlight was me talking to nunzio for like 3 minutes and earlier when shelton benjamin was in the table next to me and i congratulated him on a good match (it was him and haas v. eddy and tajiri in a rematch that night) and he was all 'thank ya, this girl need to hurry and get naked. this is a titty bar, we didn't come her for dancing.' god bless shelton benjamin.
Oh hell yeah. Working in the TV biz, everything seems to be a "gimmick," a story has an "angle" to it, reporters get "booked" to do certain stories, certain on-air people get a "push" and some don't...
