So I was just listening to Tony and he asks who likes this Mark Madden guy?

Tony goes on and on about him.

"Everybody hates this guy."

"He's the biggest weasel ever."

I love Tony.

I think it goes without saying that I do to.

Here's part of the email that I sent to the show after that segment:

"Andy, Madden is many things, but "little" is not one of them."

BTW, for those other devotees, we have a Mr. Tony tribute section of the magazine's web page and a message board (not as good as Weinerville, but what is).

I was sick and thus didn't drive into the city today and thus didn't listen to Tony's show...what was the context of the Madden discussion?

Well, first let me encourage you to goto the espnradio page and listen to the archived show, as today was good one, with Joe Morgan, a nicely acerbic chick that covers Les Expos and Mel Kiper.

During the phone call segment, someone brought up Madden as "the guy in Pittsburgh who trashes Mel Kiper." I think it was the same person who called Andy and Mel on Sunday who said Madden was much better than Mel and so on. Andy was very negative to him, as was Tony, who didn't like the fact that Madden bags on Mel so much.

Count me in among the avid Tony-ites. My local station drops the third hour (and first hour of Patrick) to pick up two hours of Rome :P. So, I change the dial to ESPN 1000 in Chicago.

Just loved the Madden discussion last week, though.

He was making some obtuse references to Madden again this morning. I've not heard all of the show yet, so I don't know the full story.

We lost the third hour today so the local station can televise their podunk minor league baseball team.

So happy I'm getting an XM system for my birthday.

The reason that people want "outside of the bible" proof is simple - it is important to get an unbiased view of a situation if you want to truly understand it.
