Ken Griffey Jr. skipping a game in Seattle because his wrist was sore after playing too much Nintendo.

Oh sure. "Playing Nintendo," nudge nudge wink wink.

'Twas Adam Eaton. And I believe the player who injured himself in the recliner was on the Marlins.

It was Antonio Alfonseca. I, being a Marlins fan, remember this vividly, because I stared at the article for at least 30 seconds, just shaking my head.

Juan Rivera going on the DL last week for running into a golf cart was pretty comical.

Of course, it did allow Marcus Thames that start against Randy Johnson....

Apparently, Rick Reed is going on the DL after cutting his hand on a suitcase.

You'd think with all the money these guys make they could get someone to lug their suitcases for them, huh?

I believe rookies are still made to carry veterans' luggage, as an initiation type thing. But that wouldn't apply here.

The latest: Reds' lefty reliever Gabe White's staph-infected bug bite sending him to the hospital and the DL. I'd laugh a bit harder if it weren't so serious and if it hadn't cost the Reds their only lefty relief pitcher.

Stanton gets a lot of money, so it makes sense for him. (Actually, Stanton gets a lot of money AND an opt out after five years, so if he even comes close to living up to this deal he can go get an even better one.)
