It's not that the beatdown took forever, it's that it seemed too forced, like they were all trying to do something totally different and they weren't really sure what to do. Flair seemed like he knew what to do, but everyone else seemed lost because Vince just doesn't call for that kind of thing anymore. Too bad, because we may not see that kind of thing again because it did look kind of bad. Hopefully though Bischoff will get his way and we could see more NWO style stuff.
Agreed on the womens stuff getting stale. I would rather see Victoria take out a jobber and hit the Widow's Peak than watch a feud match. Do something new like a stable and/or a massive beatdown QUICK.
Originally posted by FurryHippieI just thought you guys might like to know that, while it seems WWE is doing some creative new booking with the HHH/Steiner angle, remember that the "random tag team generator" isn't even an option. HHH is injured right now and is healing, that's why they're doing arm-wrestling matches and pose-downs. Rest assured if Trips was at 100% (if that's even physically possible), we'd be seeing Steiner/Kane vs. HHH/Batista on a weekly basis.
You know what? Maybe that is the case, but I say, "why hate what you're getting?" Let's all be happy that instead of getting randon tag teams, we're getting things that are actually entertaining (imho).
"If I were you, I'd put that beer down!" "If you were me, you'd be drunk. Why the hell should I listen to a drunk?"
I'm salivating over a possible Jazz/Vicki match. That would tear down the arena.
I'm not saying that the quality of the beat down was great, but that the concept of the mother of all beat downs was superb. D-Von twitching old school and Bubba blading did it for me. Pissed off Dudleys are awesome Dudleys.

Originally posted by InVerseWell, let's see. HHH was posing so as to set Steiner up for the beatdown. Steiner was posing so as to beat HHH at his own game, thus embarassing him even more. That would be why they're posing instead of fighting. HHH is afraid he won't be able to beat Steiner, hence he won't fight him unless absolutely necessary. Steiner has no doubt that he can beat HHH, so why not wait and do it when it counts at the Rumble while embarassing HHH in the meantime? As the Michaels/Jericho interview showed, it's all about egos and not just who can kick who's ass but who can one up the other. I guess basic psychology is just lost one some people...
Actually, they were posing because they're both so crippled that neither one can handle an actual, you know, *wrestling* match more than once a month.
And 'no', I'm not trying to act like the only one here who figured that out. The problem with the segment is that it made it PAINFULLY clear how crippled the two of them are, even casual fans are picking up on the fact that these guys never wrestle anymore.
I really don't see the point in reaching to justify shit writing like this. What's next? Is everyone going to say "Well, Jericho tried to kill Triple H's dog. He's showing he doesn't care about Triple H's life. That's the Best Booking Ever heading into Wrestlemania!"
I only saw the last 10 minutes, but it sounds like I didn’t miss much. but what I saw, I really liked. Having watched Storm since the formation of AMW, the guy has really grown by leaps and bounds. He is the very definition of home grown talent.
