A Japanese man living in California recently completed Metroid Prime in an hour and forty five minutes. He did not pick up such items as the grappling hook, choosing instead to morph ball bomb himself over large gaps. The man's efforts were videotaped and made official, and he believes that he has room for improvement on his time.

Man, I had heard stories about Japanese students sitting at computers all day and stuff like that, but this is some hardcore gaming. I can't imagine beating Prime in under 12 hours, at best. Just unbelievable.

Unfortunately I don't have the link to this story, if anyone does, please post it.

spf2119 is the smartest wiener of them all, and I should have never doubted him about HHH.

A few years ago a friend of ours hosted a Japanese exchange student. He spent pretty much the entire time trying to beat Super Contra for the original Nintendo with only one life. He eventually succeeded, and showed us, and it was pretty much the most amazing thing ever.

Yes, I like HHH! What's so wrong with that?

They call it Yarikomi. Like someone supposedly beating Resident Evil walking backwards with just the basic pistol.

Right now Xenosaga is the *only* game I spend time with, while both .hack and Dark Cloud gather dust. I've only played Xenogears for a few hours, so I can't compare the two (BTW I've always wanted it, but couldn't find it used locally for less than $40)....
