So a co-worker of my friend offered him some tix to last night's Cavs-Wizards game, and he in turn offered me one. Due to way too much stuff going on at home, I have only been able to very casually follow the Cavs this season and in the playoffs. This was also my first playoff game (for any sport) that I've ever attended.
What the hell was up with the horrible, horrible officiating in the first three quarters? The only good thing was that by the fourth, the dumb calls finally stopped. I don't know if it made it on TV, but the crowd did a WWE-worthy "Bullshit" chant after LeBron's 4th foul.
Speaking of which, MAJOR kudos to the Cavs for not only hanging on, but actually extending the lead with James on the bench. Larry Hughes and Flip Murray really stepped up.
I don't know why we were chanting "De-fense" all night long when the Wiz had the ball; that just seemed to encourage Arenas and Jameson (and later Butler) to just score at will.
Likewise, I love Z, but I hope he stays on the bench in the remaining game(s). Washington just runs right past him.
The end of regulation sucked the life out of the building when the Wiz completed the comeback, but the whole building was LOUD as OT continued. Snow put on a heckuva show early on in OT, and James of course brought the house down.

Don't get me wrong, it was a hell of a game and a hell of a win. But that was some really bad defense by Washington.

The James-Arenas show has been fun to watch....

TURRIBLE brain fart by Eddie Jordan for not reminding the Wiz they had a timeout and they should have USED it.

Heh, no, they were witnesses-- as in "spectators", because they might as well have been watching from the stands for all the good they were able to do on that last play. But what a heck of a play, though. I wonder if that will be considered one of LeBron's first signature plays. "The Layup", or something. On another note, it's not enough to really irritate me or anything, but the "We are all witnesses" catchphrase for LeBron strikes me as being mildly sacriligious. 14 Wins to Go. One Team, One Goal.
