Scott Christ also refers to puro workers as "yellow bastards dropping each other on their heads"...*ahem*

How can you hate a guy for getting himself over? It's not like he's killing anyone, and really it's not as if the programming has revolved around him entirely. Old saying: "those who can, do". Hogan's a smart guy. Good for him.

I'm not suprised. From memory by that point the world had been exposed to several months of Vince Russo "shoots". Vinny Ru's first couple of shoots worked, but after the first 100 of them (To quote Jeff Jarrett "Not another shoot interview!") the wrestling world was generally sick fo them.

Instead of talking about it, by the time it happend most of the internet wrestling community ahd either:
1) Given up on Nitro entirely
2) Read backstage reports from WCW and not the show (ongoing feuds, violence, angles, storylines)
3) Wrote it off as another oen fo Vinny Ru's "Work the Smarks" angles and expected Hogan to return.

Just off the record, accoring to popular legend, if it weren't for Vinny Ru's first run we would have seen Hogan Vs Hart at Starrcade. Instead we saw Bret get knocked out by a stiff kick from Goldberg in a dissapointing main event.

Under Bisch's original plan, Starrcade that eyar would've beena double main event with a kiss concert one night and Starrcade itself the next. Add Hogan vs Hart and you would've gotten a buyrate better than the 3 (people in total) who ordered.

At that point too, Hogan had just returned into the red & gold, Benoit had broken out from the Revolution and was on the verge of a major push, and the world was sympathetic to Bret after his extend holiday during the "I Quit" angle (Bret beat Goldberg by having a metal vest under his tee. Then the Owen Hart tradgedy happend and Bret's break became a shoot).

Anyways... too tired... need caffine... enough rambling...

Hey Pheadfred, let's try to tone down the rhetoric, shall we?

Why tone it down? Prof basically LIED, and Phreadfred called him on it. If you chastise anyone it should be the bad Professor himself for throwing his bullshit at us in the first place. Oh yeah, let's not forget that he's called everyone who disagrees with him "stupid marks".

There are no facts-only observational postulates in an endlessly regenerative hodgepodge of predictions. Consensus reality requires a fixed frame of reference. In a multilevel, infinite universe, there can be no fixity; thus, no absolute consensus reality. In a relativistic universe, it appears impossible to test the reliability of any expert by requiring him to agree with another expert. Both can be correct, each in his own inertial system.

If my info is correct and Hogan was born August 11, that would make him a Leo, not a Cancer.

And besides, it boils down to a simple question, can Hogan still draw?

We won't know for a little while yet (to see if there's a bump in On-Sale and PPV buys now that non-fans know that he's in the WWF), but for the time being it seems as if the answer is "yes". He may not be as graceful as some or as techincally sound as others, but the primary focus of this business (and any other for that matter) is "who can make the most money for the business". If it's Hogan, then more power to the WWF for using him. Frankly I'm enjoying the fact that he seems to be enjoying himself and still has a little gas left in his tank. No, he's not the youngest, or the most skilled, but that shouldn't necessarily mean that he's unwelcome. Especially when he's so popular.

It's not acceptable from either of them....or anybody else. I have said as such elsewhere, and I'm pretty sure I've made it clear with both of them where I stand...and if I haven't been clear, they know how to reach me.

how the FUCK is rock damaged?

What was Rock before he fought Hogan and Toronto shat upon him and gave Hogan a blowjob? Biggest face in the company, THE man.

What was he after? Hogan's pal. His tag team partner. One half of MegaPowers 2002. He got to do his draft promo alone with Vince, but has he been seen NOT at Hogan's side at any other time after WrestleMania?

Maybe it's just the general LOGIC (or what I think is logic on my part) in my mind about the whole murder joint, by only response for you is this: If *I* was the victim of an attempt on my life being made, I wouldn't exactly be all about the forgiveness when I got back at the person who assaulted me. Rock should have done a major number on Hogan after beating him at WM. Instead? They pose. They're friends. And in my eyes, but obviously not yours (and the fans, but I've already decided that they are STUPID at this point), it made Rock look like a total bitch... way more than any of the COUNTLESS and virtually BENEATH HIM jobs to guys like Bossman and girls like Stephanie ever did.

If you think it's bad now, UM, just wait till the inevitable Orndorff turn Rocky'll have to do. I chose that analogy rather than the Megapowers one, becuase to the best of knowledge Hogan hasn't gotten anywhere near the Rock's wife.
Of course you know who's gotta REALLY be hating the whole Hogan thing- the H. He can book all the special super magical happy joyous belt ceremonies he wants, the crowd still would rather see the Hulkster.
I do love a good trainwreck...

there's your problem right there.

if you want to bring logic into, rock would have been out for months with much more than some bruised ribs. hell, hulk got hurt more getting punched and kicked by rock in the ring than rock got hurt by neing in an ambulance hit by a semi.

That's really what it is. I hang with people who totally know NOTHING about wrestling. They only know two names: Hogan and the Rock. Those are the only two: Hogan and the Rock. Austin is invisible, in spite of the pushes, in spite of the appearances, in spite of the tee-shirts. Rock and Hogan have been on Leno, they've been on Regis, they've done movies. Hogan, bald, back-scratchin', Leg-drop 'o doom and all, is still the guy they know. Like McCartney touring this spring, people will still go and see Hogan, even thought he's out of time, out of date.

For what it's worth, Hogan knows the crowd, knows the length of the run. He knew it wasn't working in WCW the last couple of years, after the NWO thing got lame.

You Benoit/Van Dam/Storm "technical wrestler" lovers can talk all you want, but Hogan draws. Other than a couple of years (out of, what, a near 20 year run?), he's been a draw, a big draw. And that was due to

A: bookers not knowing what to do with him.
b: obvious staleness and maybe some apathy on Hogan's part (he seems to have gotten past the dislike of the new school when Bret Hart couldn't, but it took a while)
c: a promotion that was inherently weak, even though it _seemed_ strong at the time.

Hogan will draw. Not forever, but for another run or two

But I don't understand why that is. We're watching big guys fake-fight. If some people enjoy Hogan fake-fighting, so be it. Take some other entertainment, as an example. On NYPD Blue, Old Andy is the top worker. His work-rate is enourmous and always has been. That makes him the top draw, face or heel. But guys like Greg, a performer whose role usually puts him in the lower end of the card, occasionally comes up to the upper card and even has had a run at the top. But he can't work. I don't believe what he's doing is real most of the time. But I do enjoy what he does for the show. It's entertaining. Maybe, maybe, if Andy wasn't there, Greg could carry the show for a few weeks.

Now there's a bad one... :)

speaking of ensemble dramas, i've always thought ER was very wrestling-like. except for the defibrilators.

they put all but three of their top draws in a five man a few weeks ago to establish and re-establish them. carter, abbie, luca, etc etc etc.
