If you could change one thing about the WWE, and only one thing, what would it be?

I would put Paul Heyman in charge of the ENTIRE writing staff for all WWE Shows and PPVs and let him hire his own staff of writers that have complete conrtol over the product.

Big brother representative: Now, Mr. Simpson, may I ask why you're here?
Homer's Brain: Don't say revenge. Don't say revenge.
Homer: Ummm... revenge?
Homer's Brain: Okay, that's it. I'm outta here.

I would cut WWWAAAAYYYY back on the storylines. I'm all for promos and gimmick matches (properly used), and even some comedy now and then but the crap with cameras filming stupid skits backstage would stop. There should be plenty of drama and emotion going on in that ring if the wrestlers are good workers. If 2 wrestlers seem like they hate each other for real, and they've had a good smoldering feud, there's almost nothing better. The Sandman and Raven's ECW feud comes to mind, as well as the matches between Jerry Lynn and RVD. Those were GREAT, and we didn't even have to sit through locker room viginettes every week.

I'd hire Mick Foley as a writer.

Kool-Aid, anyone?

I would try to make Velocity/Heat matter by having storylines on there. The storylines would involve non-title Women's/Cruiserweight feuds, and lower-card heavyweight feuds.

The format. I actually just read some column on the Torch that expressed the similar thought.

The format that they're using for RAW especially is out dated. It was a format designed to keep viewers from switching to Nitro. I seriously doubt people are flipping back and forth between wrestling and whatever else is on now. The shows are filled with useless backstage skits, that do nothing but eat up time.

So I would change the format around and play with different things because I think the people that tune in, are tuning in for the whole show unless something is so actively bad that they turn it off.

Amen to that!!!
Foley brought a level of unpredictability where you never quite knew what he would do or say on any show. He seemed like he was having so much fun just being himself as the commissioner.
He's one of those personalities, like The Rock who has a great impact on whatever show they are on.

Most likely it would have to be Mick Foley as writer...simple as that. He should also play as GM of Raw

I'd ban Linda McMahon from TV. That woman is unbearable.

Only one thing? That's cruel!!!!

OK, the number one thing I'd do is release a group of talent (and i use that term very loosely): Triple H, Stephanie McMahon, and A-Train.

And YES, I know that Steph is the daughter of the boss, but still...stick her in an office in the middle of Conneticuit or somewhere we can't see her. Just not on TV, and not in any position of influence!

Professional wrestling is the only sport where participants are just thrown right into the audience, and no one in the crowd thinks anything unusual is happening. If you're watching a golf tournament and Jack Nicklaus goes flying over your head--first of all, I would say you're watching a very competitive sport. -- Jerry Seinfeld

a-train is really not that bad. he looks mean, he has cool badass finishing moves, he's not as slow or un-agile as other wrestlers of his type. i mean, maybe he shouldn't be in the high-profile role they have him in, but he's really not awful. he just needs a reason to exist in the wwe storyline world.

Hmmm, toss up between going back to having one champion who appeared on both shows and introducing mid card belts.

I dont like the fact that as things fights theres many 'money' fights I'll never get to see (again) that would interest me (Booker v Kurt, Brock v SCSA or HHH, RVD v Rey, Benoit v HHH, Jericho vs just about any of the SD 6). Having a champion who was on both brands would change that.

Having a mid-card belt in the other hand would give the midcard something worthwhile to do and provide a decent stepping stone for the younger talent like Batista, Team Angle (if/when they go solo), Orton, RVD and so on.

Overall I'll go for the mid-card belts being re-introduced as I think this becomes a damn near necessity if they're gonna try and fill cards for split ppv's.

more gimmick names. not over the top ridiculous stuff, but i'm kind of tired of seeing people with their real names all the time. that and bring back the "jr" attachment. (rey mysterio JR, chavo gurerro JR) that and let them wear their own outfits. kidman looked SO much better with the wife beater and cut off jeans. now he wears purple tights..blah..

it says so right here in the wcw handbook!

I would like to see less backstage segments. Used to be (at the start of Crash TV) that they were something special."Hey, there's Austin in the locker room in his warmup gear!" Now half the show takes place back there.

Remember in the NWA in the 1980s? All off camera happenings were major events. Dusty Rhoads getting beaten up in a parking lot. Ole Anderson attacking Ric Flair in the locker room. Jimmy Garvin attacking Jim Cornette in the back.

Now, every car is shown pulling in. Every wrestler gets a backstage entrance. Too many office segments to count. It's too common place now to get the effect they want.

Cake or Death?
Uh, cake please.

I would have a lot more tag team matches. More guys on TV showing off their arsenal of moves. Furthermore, not every tag match has to use the Face-in-peril/Hot tag formula.

Another key thing is for the wrestlers to show INTENSTITY. Make me believe they're fighting, not performing.

I'd get rid of the "job for a job" system the WWE currently uses as an excuse not to elevate anyone. "Oh, I jobbed to this person last week, I need him to job to me now." This is the primary reason they can't get the newer talents one's allowed to look like a decisive winner unless they're one of the Big Four.

Hah...hah...hah...hah! YA SCUM!!!

Realistically I am not going to be able to change personnel so firing HHH is out of the question and though I agree it is in dire need of tuning up, Vince isn't going to let me touch the format. So if I could change one thing it would be this:

Every move a wrestler makes needs to be justified. If he jumps someone -- why did he do it? If he tags with someone, why did he do it? Even in the ring -- if he ddts someone -- why did he do it?

This would enable continuity and stronger character building. One minor thing that this would have fixed is Kane. Would have done a Kane aroonie? I don't think so. That whole Katie Vick crap wouldn't have worked because it would have been a blatant slap to his previous story (Which it was). Also he wouldn't have come back with that stupid looking mask -- the old one was a ton better, that one he has now looks retarded.

Boy, God have mercy on your soul if you tried to drive out there like my friend and I did. I'm just getting back, because it is snowing like you wouldn't believe. Still, going to the show was worth all the hassle of leaving the show.
