While the RNN gimmick is funny (although I am still bitter about never getting a reply from him. Just because I said Lou Thesz dead could outwork him in the ring, well, nevermind), how soon after Randy Orton returns to in-ring action will we remember that he, well, whats the word I'm looking for, is almost Gayda-esque inside the confines of the squared circle. Need we go back to his final match on RAW, when he was blowing moves left and right. Please Randy, just stay in a commentary position and don't return to the ring to remind us all that your worse than the Tough Enough Bunch.

I have to agree. He's still too green to be there, along with probably half the guys they've called up from OVW. but, he'll get his Rocky Maivia push when he returns. You can bet on it.

He's about a billion times better than Gayda, can sell really well, and bumped his way across the river Styx and back in his match against Brock Lesnar.

Agreed; you guys are being waaay to harsh on somebody who's yet to have a TV match of any significant length. And as I recall, there was one blown move in Orton's last match with Christian, and it was more due to Christian not knowing how to sell the Ovedrive than Orton botching it.

I can't say that Randy sucks. In fact, I think he's pretty decent in the ring. Sure, he's green. I mean, come on?!?!?!? Who isn't green when they are just beginning their career? Hell, Michael Jordan wasn't even picked for his high school basketball team, or something like that.

I look forward to seeing him come back and watching him grow and mature into a great wrestler. Shit, everyone has to start somewhere.

Didn't ROCKY used to suck when he was getting shoved down our throats? A new push could have the same effect on Randy Orton.

Randy Orton wasn't the greatest wrestler evar...but he was no Jacky Gayda. Boy had to have the prettiest roll ups on the entire roster. I hope he does well for himself on his return

Cut him some slack...he's entertaining, which is what I've been missing lately.

Personally, I hope he comes back with his Dad's cast!

I don't expect him to walk around in a cast, but the sling will be there for a long long time IMO.
During that time he might hone his skills perhaps and come back a good solid performer (not like he was that bad in the first place, just sort of bland)

What I fear more is that upon his return he is not much of a true heel but a heel we secretly love because of all the hilarious updates and promos. I don't know how the 'general public' views him, but everybody here seems to dig the promos and his current 'angle', right?

Upon his return they should have the update ticker running during his matches..now that would be the best.
Update: Orton tries roll up, gets two count only.

HAHAHA! I'm glad I'm not the only one, dMp, who finds those update chryons to be funnier than hell. I love it when Randy says stuff like, “My arm is now at 39% mobility” and seconds later his chryon says “Orton: Arm at 39% Mobility”. Actually, I think that's funny when CNN does it, too. “In case you missed what this guy said three seconds ago, he said this.” It's the next best thing to having an honest-to-God instant replay of people talking. LOL!

dMp,

That's incredibly brilliant. I would go out of my way to watch any Orton match if it featured a "move-ticker." Wow, great idea.

Hell, both RAW and SmackDown! should take that approach. It might finally eliminate all those damned "Let Us Take You Back To" and "Moments Ago" replays of the same damned thing we just saw that used to drive CRZ nuts.

He just lost the Impact championship recently, so he can't be tied to a Lucha Underground contract like so many others were, or else he never would've been Johnny Impact in the first place.
