Last week I was excited for Heat. I didn't check the spoilers for once, I wanted to see Raven's masterpiece, I always had thought Raven was interesting, in a brooding, rebel sense. So when I sat down, I wondered what it was going to be, a debuting OVW wrestler, a new Flock-like stable, or even the return of a freshly-healed Chris Kanyon as Raven's new tag-team partner? I was pumped, but all we got was...... a heel promo. Mind you, it was a good heel promo, but nothing to special. Raven's masterpiece seemed to be nothing more than the same thing Jericho says during the second quarter hour, only Raven used bigger words to insult the audience. So, what would have been a true masterpiece in my eyes, what could have propelled Raven up into a player, or at least an upper-midcarder? Before you all gasp and hate me, two words come to mind, Katie Vick.
Imagine this, Raven comes out on Heat, he annouced that the plebian fans didn't deserve his masterpiece, that he would annouce it after Survivor Series as he makes his triumphant return to RAW. Now, for this to work, we have to assume Kane doesn't win the Elimination Chamber. Kane lost that, lost the fued to HHH, and is down on his luck and heat. So, after Survivor Series, here cames Raven out to the ring. He gives a huge speech, about how he is and never has been happy, how joy and happiness disgust him, how the only thing worse than his own sadness, is seeing the joy of others. With this, Raven could show his masterpiece....
Raven could explain how when Kane returned, he was happy. He had his freaks, his Hurricane, and was on top of the world. Raven could tell how this made him sick, nasueous, infuriated. So, Raven had to do something about it, Raven came up with a plot, a plot that never was true, and fed it to HHH. Raven went about destroying Kane's happiness, and it made Raven feel good. Raven could gloat about how the deeper Kane feel into depression and lost his humanity, Raven gained his, Raven could show how the angle was fake the whole time, concocted for Raven's sick imagination and enjoyment. So, Raven's reveals his masterpiece, he gloats about his destruction of Kane, looks up at the crowd and proclaims, "Kane will never be happy again, Quote the Raven, Nevermore!"
But where does Raven go from here? I would say for Raven to interfere in Kane's matches. Hit Kane when he is happy. Take out Kane's friends, attack him before and after matches with chairs, bulldog him into chairs, and always have Raven escape. Have Raven constantly torment Kane throughout the rest of November and December, sign a match between the two for the next PPV. Have it be a true blood fued, but let Raven be sneaky, be evil, take out Kane and his friends, and let Kane win at the PPV.
Kane should go over at the PPV, it gives him his heat back, gives him a PPV win, which he needs, and it also can end the Katie Vick storyline. After the match, have Kane's "Friends" of Hurricane, Booker, Goldust, even Terri perhaps, console him that its all over, that he won. What about Raven though? Raven will have shown that he is sick, that he is a player, that he took Kane off his game. Raven may have lost the battle, but he can profess he won the war by destroying Kane's soul and mind, Raven can show himself to be a SOB that destroys his opponents minds. Give Raven someone else to toy with, some other face, hell let him play mind games with Dreamer if need be; but I think if Raven is allowed to rip on Kane, not only will it end the Katie Vick storyline, it could help Raven become a true force on RAW (not a maineventer, but a good heal and character, which RAW is lacking), and help Kane get his heat back.

Midterms suck, but not as bad as necro angles.

The only problem I see with your logic here is that even if it was revealed as "fake" and concocted by Raven, Kane still admitted to the whole episode. The only thing he denied was raping her. So if Raven came out and said the entire thing was untrue, it would be kind of weird seeing as Kane confirmed it himself.....was he playing along? Um...that wouldn't make sense at all.

Then again, yes, I know what you're all saying..."Since when was WWE using logic and storyline continuity"? You must admit though, this would be kind of stretching it.

Good point, when I wrote this in my mind I remeber that Vick did exist, but all we know is that she died and Kane was involved, Raven could have made up the rest.

And I'm praying along with you that one day they will give Raven a storyline more important than feuding with D'Lo over who could be Coach's love slave.

Interesting scenario....let me throw out another.

My boyfriend's actually the one who came up with this idea and it's just so damned far-fetched, it could possibly come from the PowerBook of the WWE writing team.

Namely that on the episode of Heat done live prior to the PPV, it'd be revealed that Raven's the one who came up with the Elimination Chamber. Bischoff has been saying things along the line of "the genius mind of Eric Bischoff"...well, why not use that to trigger some kind of feud between those two?

But since Heat's creative team consists of the folks who gave us HLA & necrophilia, I'm not holding out a helluva lot of hope.

Furry, I'll be joining you in the prayer vigil shortly.

Was I disappointed that Raven didn't reveal his masterpiece on Heat.

All of your suggestions sound good but I think that Raven's masterpiece might have something to do with D-Lo turning heel. D-Lo would say that he hasn't been pushed much in the WWE and that's why he has teamed up with Raven.

See, the whole Vick thing has one big problem... that would mean that the "Cerebral Assasin" was duped by Raven. He would never have that....

But that could lead to a Raven-HHH feud which I would find interesting if written well (ie more focus on treachery, deceit, and mind games than cheap jokes, crass humor and stupid skits).

I still say they need a Heat exlusive title. They could build up feuds and blow them off as the lead in to the ppv. Heat could really be a fun little show if they wanted it to be.

Revive the I-C and Euro belts, only this time they're exclusive to Heat and Velocity?
