Okay… I think I've officially reached my limit.

Tonight, Raw centered on: Linda McMahon. Shane McMahon. Vince McMahon. Steve Austin. Eric Bischoff. Jim Ross. Jonathan Coachman. Jerry Lawler. Two of those guys were in featured matches. Not one of those nine is an active wrestler. And what's the only match we know about for next week? That's right – a match between TWO non-wrestlers.

Now some of it was useful to advance storylines; I'll give them that. Hell, I'm even start to dig the Coach character. But my point is… IT’S A LITTLE MUCH ALREADY!

My predictions for Unforgiven:

Shane vs Kane

Linda vs Bischoff (with Linda winning, natch)

JR vs Coachman (Hell in the Cell)

Al Snow/Terri/Lillian Garcia vs Josh Matthews/Howard Finkel/Mark Lloyd

Vince McMahon vs Zack Gowan's mother

Stone Cold vs Theodore R. Long

And in a special bonus match: That Guy Who Shot The T-Shirts Out of the Gun vs That Guy They Interviewed at Ringside

How many wrestlers in the back during the show packed up their bags and said "Well, this sh*t sucks Iam going home!"?

They also used the INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION simply to setup and further the much more important build to THE COACH versus THE KING!

Hey! Look on the bright side! At least now all the cards are in place and we're clearly on the path to a new World's Heavyweight Champion. A Man who will clearly begin to get over in the way he was intended to and a Man who will defeat the Tyrannical Overlord HHH!

And that man is Jonathan Coachman -.-

I'm guessing the dramatic ending is going to lead to the return of Kane's mask. Too late, WWE; you already blew that one.

In any case, who should have been kicking Kane into that dumpster? Definitely not Shane. You could have had any number of wrestlers do it and, handled correctly, it could have been an excellent feud. Hell, it could have been the jumpstart to Undertaker's farewell tour, bringing the "brothers" full circle. Jericho, Christian, f*cking MAVEN for crying out loud! Anyone but Shane! What's he going to do? Get the crap kicked out of him and pull of a fluke victory with another high-spot, kill his opponent's heat and then disappear for a few months? Oh wait....

During Vince's rant on the Highlight Reel, was anyone else waiting for Jericho to mention that he, too had been a [conspiracy] victim?

How fucked up a company is when:

- the most compelling character these days is an interviewer;
- the Intercontinental champion defends his title against a commentator;
- the aforementionned champion needs the help of the aforementionned interviewer to beat the aforementionned commentator;
- the boss' son commits murder on live TV by pushing their "monster" into a pit of fire?

Jerry Lawler is STILL a wrestler, whether he's wrestling frequently or not. Besides, it wouldn't take us very long to rattle off a list of names on the RAW roster who have had LESS matches than Lawler over the past couple months. (Not to imply that Lawler wrestling more than "_______" would be or is a good or bad thing either way)

Don't worry, I am assured that there will be one contest at the PPV which will in fact only involve wrestlers.

Unfortunately, it will be a bikini contest.

I would SO have marked out if Christian had come out to the ring and said something like, "I'm here because this segment needs something--it needs an actual WRESTLER". As it was, he was very entertaining in that spot.

True enough, and I guess by `non-wrestler', I more meant to imply people who should actually be having competitive matches in the year 2003 (er, I guess I could add Mark Henry to list too, by that criteria). Sure, Lawler fights on Raw once in a while, and on the indy's all the time. But does this mean that they should be bringing in, say, Abdullah the Butcher? Probably not.

But still, Lawler vs Coachman -- with a week's advance hype? Ridiculous!

Why not? He moves as well as Nash, and has a much more impressive rack of manboobs. (More like boobFLAPS, really.)

You know, I don't usually enter a lot of posts about the actual wrestling, but last nights show really pissed me off.

I understand that some non-wrestlers are going to get involved in things, but when someone like Chris Jericho is made to wrestle Shane McMahon, I expect one thing. Jericho to whip his ass. Same is true for someone wrestling Coach, or to some extent Lawlor. I know he's a wrestler, but is there anyway in hell he should be competitive to the current IC Champ.

The fact that it takes Kane coming to the ring to help Jericho or Coach coming to help Christian is just stupid. That means that I could get into the ring with Jericho and he would only win through outside interference. (ya right)

OK, Coach to wrestle Lawlor, fine. Bischoff vs Shane, fine. But keep them from wrestling with other wrestlers, unless they are in a tag situation with another wrestler... Lawlor and ?? versus Coach and Christian would've been fine.

And if they are to go against an actual wrestler, they should lose clean for crying out loud!!!

Lawler also does the occasional indy date. He's coming to Denmark, WI for us on September 6th.

I actually didn't know Lawler worked indies until our booker booked him. Wonder if that NWA affiliation'll be a problem up in Stamford...

I wonder if this is a reflection of a deeper problem in the booking team...

We've complained for a long time about the lack of consistency in the Raw writing. I personally can't stand the fact that a guy will get pushed for two weeks then buried on Heat for the next six (think they'll capitalize on Michaels' giving Maven a rub last night?). This all seems to point to one explanation...the writers have absolutely no confidence in any of the midcard guys.

Surely if anyone writing that show thought there was a star to be made, he'd be getting pushed. Aside from Orton, not one guy who wasn't established before these writers got control gets any consideration. I figure they look at it and see "well, Austin gets a louder pop than anyone, so we have to use him....and Bischoff gets heat....and JR and Lawler get good pops when they get introduced at TV, so they're clearly over as babyfaces...and the McMahons just rule...that's more than we can say for Test, so lets just turn Coach heel...he'll get heat on superfaces JR and King, and we'll be on our way".

Hopefully they put on the brakes before we get to full-out WCW mode. Let's just say 'thank God' that Jim Ross and the cruiserweight title are on separate shows.

They also have Nova (Simon Dean), Tommy Dreamer (retired), Rhyno (fired but I have heard he might be back for the show), and probably another I'm forgetting.
