Oh come on now, Ted was whining about wanting to get married from the first episode.
Stella screwed him, Victoria left him hanging, Robin shit on him, and why? Because he was soft and douchey. He let shit happen to him and his willingness to stand by and get his heart shit on while Robin was with Barney was just too much. He needed to man the fuck up and just take her away.
As for whomever it was that brought up Robin being whiny in the finale, you have got to admit, she's also realizing what a huge mistake it was to commit to Barney, and he's crapping all over her, not even realizing how bad it's killing her (another reason him being uber-dickish was unpleasant to watch)
But, that's neither here nor there. The best thing about this last few season, without a doubt, was this:

Thank you Stagger Lee! That was awesome! Long live Patrice.
I watched the finale again today on DVR and I enjoyed it even more than I did when I saw it Monday night. I have no problem with how the show and found myself smiling at the last scene. The Blue French Horn. It had to make a final appearance. And since Ted kept it all this time, it shows how much he loved Robin.
And I heard the Giant Pineapple will be explained in the Season 9 DVD. I think that was the only loose end yet to be tied.
This shows had a TON of high water marks. Yes there were low times, but for me the show had way more good episodes over bad ones.
HIMYM is firmly in my top 10 favorite sitcoms of all time.
Life is hilariously cruel.
It ain't the six minutes... it's what happens in that six minutes.
The best part was how future Ted magically didn't sound like Bob Saget.
I'm also so glad that they essentially said "hey, remember this entire season and how it was all set up around the wedding of Barney and Robin? You should have seen your f($*ing faces when you actually fell in love with them... what a bunch of clowns. And, hey? You actually liked The Mother? Hahahaha. You're so precious."
While driving to a funeral with my sister a month ago, my GPS kept alerting me every five minutes "YOU ARE OVER THE SPEED LIMIT". Finally I shrieked "NOBODY ASKED YOU PATRICE!". My sister had never seen HIMYM and was confused. Had to show her that clip to explain it.

They will be laughing it up when How I Meet Your Dad is either no picked up or canned after a season.
I admittedly stopped watching the show sometime in season 3, but, relating it to this thread, it was because of Ted. I just couldn't stand him. Marshall and Lily were great and Barney, while sometimes annoying, was Barney and that was sometimes the point of Barney. Robin was just kind of there. But Ted...what a boring, whiny, self-absorbed...yeah, I just couldn't take him as the main character.
