Hey, any of ya driving through Detroit, don't get caught speeding... the cops are handing out Lion Tickets.

Q: What do you call 47 people sitting around a TV watching the Super Bowl?

A: The Detroit Lions

Where do you go in Detroit in case of a tornado? To Ford Field - they never have a touchdown there!

I heard the Lions' opponents didn't show up one Sunday. 3 plays into overtime, Detroit kicked a 50-yarder to win it.

Would the lady who left her 11 kids at Ford Field please come pick them up? They're beating the Lions 14-3. *rimshot*

Seriously, who will have more TD passes in 2004, Harrington or his one-time-UO-backup Feeley?

It depends on Harrington's receiving core. Let's break it down, shall we?

1. Charles "Oww, my finger" Rogers: He better produce this season. If he doesn't completely blow me away, I'm declaring him a bust (which means absoluting NOTHING to anyone besides me).

2. Az-Zahir "Oww, my leg" Hakim (or, if you're Tim Green, Az-Zazir): 3rd receiver in St. Louis thrown into the #1 receiver spot in Detroit. That worked well.

3. Bill "Fast White Guy" Schroeder: Was never all that impressive in Green Bay. I guess they brought him to the Motor City so commentators could talk about his alleged speed, and so that he could not-catch passes. Oh, wait...

4. Scotty "Oww, my leg" Anderson: He was the Lions best receiver last year, and he only played half a season!

5. Insignificant White Receiver With Last Name Kircus: Who the hell is this guy?

And while I'm on receivers... why did we trade away Johnnie Morton? Why?

"Was that some kinda setup?!" No Mr. Cole, it was a remarkable set of coincidences.

Wasn't Johnnie Morton the guy who said he would rather win an Oscar than a SuperBowl? That might have had something to do with it.

What do Possiums and Detroit Lions have in common? ...both play dead at home and get killed on the road.

Now seriously, why doesn't Flint, Michigan get their own pro football team? Because then Detroit would want one.

Harrington is a decent QB, but I doubt he has the makings of a Payton Manning or Tom Brady. He may be doomed to play a back up in his hometown someday much like Charlie Batch.

I think the Lions should bring in Jeff George, drop the West Coast crap and put George in and install the run and shoot!

Aside from the annual match-up with the Colts, I'm really pleased with the Patriots' schedule. Drawing the NFC East this year is quite pleasant, finishing with 3 of 4 at home is awesome, and Romeo Crennel coming back home in Week 5 should be fun.
