Seriously, TOLEDO? Farking TOLEDO beats them, IN ANN ARBOR?

Losing to a MAC team, at home isn't good. I knew Michigan was in for a tough season, but this is almost hilarious.

I thought they would be a bit better than this. But it's a whole new system and they lost a lot of players so it's not a total shock. Guess it's just going to take a couple years.

Texas/OU was really something else. I figured Texas was just a bit better, but they tend to have such a negative attitude around here regarding this game. It was nice to see them fight and I wonder if Muschamp isn't the big reason they're able to do this type of thing now. too bad he won't be around much longer. He'll get a head coaching job very soon.

Vandy finally goes down. Oh well it was fun while it lasted. Texas Tech showed why I think they're over rated. Fun game though. Miami having a lot of trouble with UCF, which makes me smile. Surprised by Minnesota beating Illinois today.

The way Oklahoma played the first 20 minutes of the game I thought it was going to be 51-20 Oklahoma. If Texas comes back next week and knocks of Missouri, it will be very tough not to put them as #1.
I guess the check from the Notre Dame fans to the replay official only allowed for 1 bad call in ND's favor down the stretch. Can't go -5 on turnovers and win on the road.
I actually don't hate Michigan. I usually root for them against Ohio State. But, how the hell do you lose in Ann Arbor to a team that lost to Florida International? Did they hypnotize the Wolverines with photos of Jamie Farr? Team that suffers the most from this game is Utah, as this completely kills their best non-conference win.
Clemson folding against Wake Forest hurts Alabama's quality non-conference win.
I've never had faith in Texas Tech before, and that non-belief still continues.
Based on head-to-head match-ups in front of them, should USC run the table, they might sneak back to the top. Of course, that has been the case the past few seasons after they lost, then they turn around and lose to another team less talented than them.
State University of New Jersey drops to 1-5, though it was a quality victory over Morgan State. Think Schiano is second guessing turning down Miami and Michigan the last 2 seasons?

As long as they are still ahead of Tennessee, Georgia and maybe Florida (if they lose tonight) it's still fun. The fun might be over next week though.

I don't know. Clearly the voters are really high on the SEC since they had 5 teams in the top 10 at one point and clearly they are high on the Big 12 since one poll has Missouri over Alabama who should really be in the top 2 no matter how you decide your rankings. A one loss team in the Big 12 and a one loss team in the SEC would almost have to be in, especially with an extra Conference Championship game because all of those teams will probably have to beat 2 or 3 Top 10 teams. Maybe even a 2 loss team from those conferences gets in the Championship game. Ohio State running the table would help, but they look pretty vulnerable to me.

Ok, wait a minute?

Georgia Tech needed to block a last second field goal to secure a 10-7 win over Gardner-Webb?

I had to rewind the TV to double check that.

And in looking at the box score it wasn't some fluke. 79 yards rushing? Outgained overall? T.O.P. to G-Webb?

That's just stunning to me.

Also, as FSU learned last year, do not taunt Tebow before a game. You won't like him when he's angry, right LSU?

He's our third-string quarterback, and we TRIED to run our regular offense but it sure as hell didn't work. You need a quick smallish guy to be your QB in this system, but Calvin Booker is the size of Brian Brohm or Ben Roethlisberger, so he's not exactly ideal for a triple-option offense. We still had the conference's #1 rusher playing, but unfortunately in this system if your QB can't get his shit together that pretty much messes up your running game too. And his only passing TD came when that same #1 rusher (Jonathan Dwyer) caught a pass short and then ran practically the length of the field for a score. Ugh, thank goodness this game wasn't televised.

Well my point was basically that whatever string he was could not run that offense and that's why GT only scored 10. It's like putting Michael Vick under the center and throwing 60 times a game. Hopefully GT gets their QBs back soon.

I meant to respond to this in my last post and say you had an argument for putting them as #1 NOW, but apparently the AP pollsters beat me to the punch and already did it:

Yeah, Texas should definitely be #1 now. Alabama #2, PSU #3, Perfect. It'll all work itself out in a few weeks. PSU in the national title game sounds good to me.

We have a late change in the program ladies and gentlemen. Performing in the role of Michigan State this season will be Wisconsin. If that wasn't outright quitting after 2 tough losses I don't know what is.
Interesting question should Alabama, Texas and Penn State somehow all run the table: Does the sympathy vote that Tom Osborne got at Nebraska in '94 to vault over an unbeaten Penn State team go completely around and vault Paterno into the Top 2 as the season goes along?
If the voters decide to stress winning the conference to play for the national title, Oklahoma is going to need 2 Texas losses to get back into the mix.
Losing to a horrendous Arkansas team is a disgrace for Auburn.
Didn't think it was possible for that LSU defense to give up over half a hundred in regulation. My doubts for them were offensive, and when they cut it to 20-14 I thought they were going to steal the win and vault to #1.

Penn State won't get into the top 2 if Alabama wins out because the Big 10 is perceived as weak and Alabama would have a tougher schedule going out. (Alabama WILL lose, however. And PSU won't.)

Texas might lose 2 games, but I'm pretty sure Joke/Choke/insert lol here-ahoma is out of it at this point.

The LSU defense did not give up 51 if you want to get technical, but man I did not see that coming. I also thought they would storm back after halftime and when they cut it to 20-14 I thought it was over and LSU would win, then we'd get a #1 LSU vs #2 Alabama matchup eventually.. oh well.

Vanderbilt still controls its own destiny in the East, that's the important thing here.

Missouri proved they aren't ready still. Not that anyone really thought they were. I expected them to be good, but not able to get past OU or Texas. Seems they couldn't even make it past OSU. I don't think Oklahoma State is really all that great actually, though they have some talent. Texas looks like a team that could go undefeated.

Auburn...that offense is just horrible.

And yes, if Penn State is in the mix at the end, the voters will push him into the BCS game. No question.

Well it looks like I could be wrong about USC as the USC love once again vaults them all the way up to sixth. I don't believe for a second that Texas Tech or Oklahoma State will go undefeated but I also don't think USC should be ahead of them until they lose. Still USC needs all five teams ahead of them to lose and Georgia, LSU and maybe Missouri need to lose again to not catch up to USC.

I don't think Texas should jump ahead of Alabama just yet. Texas beat a great Oklahoma team but how quickly we forget that Alabama was not just beating Georgia but kicking their ass most of the game. I guess it doesn't really matter since Alabama is still in the National Championship game for now at #2. I still think Alabama is less likely to go undefeated than Texas and Penn State too.

Thankfully Auburn didn't receive any votes in the AP poll. I know they lost their first two games to teams in the top 15 last week but the voters must not have watched the games because they clearly weren't a Top 25 team.

Yeah speaking of former Nebraska situations. Wasn't it Nebraska that got, or nearly got a shot at the Championship after not going to the Big 12 Championship? Hopefully Georgia not getting a shot last year means you'll have to win the conference.

Since the AP poll has no impact on the BCS, USC being #6 isn't meaningful. That they have jumped all the way up to #4 in the coaches poll is very meaningful. I just thought USC would methodically climb as the fall back position to the voters while other teams kept getting knocked off, didn't expect them anywhere near this point until some point in November. They only need 2 of the 3 teams in front of them to get picked off, as #2 is just as good as #1 at the end of the regular season. Now vote wise they are almost in a dead heat with #5 Texas Tech, but I need to put my finger in the wounds with Tech before I believe in them. Interesting part is that 6,7,8 of Oklahoma/Florida/BYU is within 4 points of each other. That could provide fluidity in that layer of the poll in the weeks to come.
The way the Pac-10 looks, a lot of teams around Thanksgiving might be hoping that Notre Dame has figured out how not to turn the ball over on the road in order to derail USC.

I am fairly sure IF he can still run, he'd be a good fit in New England. They don't run the ball down people's throats, they spread the ball around, so he wouldn't get beat to hell with too many touches.
