And after watching the first episode this looks promising. Yes, House is a jerk, but I thought they did a different job with the amount of character development they laid out in one hour. All the supporting cast seems like they have a direction they can go.
Really this is what I was expecting from CSI: NY. (And is it just me or does CBS seem to sabotaging that show. It's the middle of November and how many actual episodes have they shown? Maybe it hasn't been that many fewer than other shows but the way they've broken them up makes it hard to get into the show. And then interrupting during the last 3-5 minutes of last week's show, when the local news was 3-5 minutes away in most areas?)
Back to House, my one concern is that I do hope this isn't a show where they try 3 treatments a show only to get it right on the last one, but we'll see how that plays out.

*I* was really looking forward to FOX ending their constant bombardment of "House" ads, so.....I'll throw a guess towards the "yes" side ot that spectrum.
Same I reason I didn't bother with "My Big Fat Obnoxious Boss"
and won't bother with "Nanny 911"
not that I was planning on watching "The O.C."
or FOX's version of the wifeswap show with a name
and I ALMOST didn't bother with "The Simpsons" due to so many damn ads
So are you saying 1) There was a new show on network TV that didn't have a bunch of commercials? 2) Fox's are more obvious because everyone else had moved on with their season? (Whereas the ones on the other networks get blended in because they are all at the same time of the year) 3) You watch too much Fox and therefore see them shill too many of their shows. 4) You need us to donate more, so you can afford to buy a Tivo (or Tivo-like since they are now wanting to put "their" ads on any time you fast-forward) service and not watch the ads. :)

No, you weren't. I will give anything with Hugh Laurie a shot, and I'm usually a sucker for a medical show, so I went ahead and Tivo'd it, and after the first episode it's set to record the season now. I do hope they start to run some multi-episode arcs as the season goes on, as it did feel too easy at the end, but as an introductory episode it worked to give an idea of what you're dealing with as a viewer. And really, "you're orange!" made me laugh my ass off. Good show I thought and I'll keep watching it. Hope it does well and not get canceled like most other shows I watch.
I liked the show. I thought that fact that House was an asshole was it's best quality. Out of the new shows this year, Lost, Boston Legal, and now House are probably my three favorites.
I had never seen Hugh Laurie in anything besides Blackadder, so to see him playing such a... dramatic role is surprising. However, he does it very well, although the American accent threw me off. Hopefully this show won't get canceled.
If it does, here's hoping NBC Uni pulls a JAG of its own and picks it up. I really haven't been into the network TV scene, but after reading a couple of reviews, I gave it a try.
Weird to say it, but it's if Archie Bunker was put into a medical wonder's mind. His character has a whole ton of pathos, which is why it's a fun show to watch; along the same lines of "Rescue Me."
