Last week on Raw, Flair ran into Batista(who was long rumored to be a part of the new Horsemen) and said "hi". This week Batista "saves" Flair from Kane. When Flair came out in street clothes(well, as close to street clothes as he has), I swore he was going to try to recruit Kane. But then Batista came out, and I popped. So who will the line up be? TripleH, Batista, more than likely Randy Orton, and who else? Flair's better in the JJ Dillon role than the wrestling role. At any rate, look for the Horsemen to ride again.

They can put 4 guys together and call them Horsemen but, they won't be THE Horsemen.

These are real Horsemen:

I love that photo of the Windham-er Horsemen. wasn't that the cover of one of the Apter mags back in 1988. I'm definitely agreed that whoever they put together will NOT be true Horsemen. Having said that, If Flair is manager and Orton is 3rd guy, who could they have as the fourth? Maybe Val Venis? Actually, the closest they could get to the Horsemen concept with what they have on RAW now is--Flair/Anderson co-managers, HHH/Orton/Nowinski/Regal. Or let HHH be on his own and have Nowinski/Orton/Regal/Storm.

I find it fuckin' hilarious that anytime Flair is talking or siding with ANYONE, someone has to start saying, "They're bringing back the 4 horsemen!!!", and then start making THEIR pick about who else just HAS to be in it. No, I'm not just singling you out, DVD...
Give it a break, just let it die...let's not keep going back into the past, haven't we all learned that stuff won't work, beyond the initial nostalgia? Let's see something NEW.
I don't see stables really becoming as popular as they used to be, it's all about individual characters, who do things alone (except tag teams, obviously)...

Except that recently, people with "sources" have said that the WWE has been interested in reforming the Horseman with HHH/Bautista/Orton/A Fourth with Flair as their manager. This was before Bautista had even debuted on RAW. And now he's rubbing elbows with Flair.

So in this case, the speculation is at least a little bit justified.

Badgers (6-6) - Bowl bound! Oh wait...
Buffy 7... Earns Pi x 2 points...Uh...Not really sure what I'm supposed to thing...That was one friggin' weird episode...

It doesn't matter how ugly you are when you kick as much ass as the Horsemen do/did.

I think if they remaid the 4 Horsemen, Flair manages, Hunter is the Flair role, Bautista the enforcer, and Nowinski and Orton the tag team. Nowinski fits the horsemen image well, and in fact character wise possibly resembles Flair the most. On a different note, does anyone else think a Varsity Club with Orton, Cena, and Nowinski would kick ass?

Can somebody tell me what is so good about Batista? Sure, he has potential to be something, but as of right now, he's just a damn green rookie. Why would he have anything to do with the words "4 Horsemen"? Becuase he's big? That ain't enough.

In my mind, the Horsemen wouldn't be the Horsemen without Chris Benoit and Arn Anderson.

On the original horsemen picture: Why isn' Ole wearing the Evil, Mean, and Nasty shirt. And am I the only one who misses the old NWA TV Title belt?
If you reform the Horsemen now, all your going to do is create another Roma, Mongo, or Sid; Horsemen who detract from the legacy, not enhance. I mean if RVD and Jeff Hardy talk about music before tagging, does that mean they are the new Rock 'n Roll Express, or even better, the new Rock 'n Roll RPM's?

I want you to know, I agree with everything I've just said.

The main problem with any reformed Horseman or even a Varsity Club is that the WWE would never carry it out as long as the old NWA did. Times have changed, and so have companies. With how fast everything moves today, there would be no time to build a legacy. Plus, the modern-day McMahon has never been big on pushing stables over extended periods of time from what I can tell, and especially former NWA/WCW teams. I just don't see this going anywhere even if it starts.

I can't believe nobody has mentioned the greatest Horseman of all time who just happens to be on the WWE payroll (as far as I know.) The Bossman! Doesn't anyone remember how after Ole got kicked out of the Horseman, Flair rented Big Bubba Rogers from Jim Cornette for a couple of weeks until they chose a replacement? (Which I think was Lex Luger.)

That is the exact reason why a new group of Horsemen will only be a mockery of the past.

From the infamous Wrestleline SS interview:

DTD: If you were to make changes in WCW, if you were in charge and not Ric Flair, what would they be?

SS: I'd get rid of all the old guys, and push the talent that has waited to get the push. The things they are doing, it's back in the 1980s. It's just bad, man. Flair doesn't even deserve to be on the show. You've got to get rid of all the old guys. Like what Vince did, they started pushing guys. Nobody knew who The Rock was 2 years ago. He made The Rock. Now The Rock just did Saturday Night Live. You've got to start with the young talent, talent people can relate to. Who are we trying to relate to if we've got a 50 year old man out there? Are we trying to relate, so a 50 year people and above will go out and buy a f*cking little toy? That ain't gonna happen. It's a f*cking joke.

Does it remind you of any show in particular?

While I can't argue about the fact that the Horsemen weren't pretty boys, I don't know about the ugliest. You must not have seen the mid '80s NWA group consisting of Nikita Koloff, Ivan Koloff, and Baron Von Raschke.

Can you believe Nikita Koloff is a preacher now?

You might be right and I might be wrong but, I don't remember it that way. Lex Luger was already with the Horsemen as an "associate" when Ole was still with the group. I think Lex was officially named the 4th Horseman a week or 2 after Ole left the group.

Big Bubba (The Bossman) was hired by the Horsemen to take out Ole Anderson after Ole left the Horsemen. That led to a Big Bubba vs. Ole Anderson cage match at the Crockett Cup tag team tournament. Plus, it was Big Bubba, under a mask (I think named the War Machine), that replaced JJ Dillon for the 2nd WarGames match.

Kendall Windham and Michael Hayes have more of a claim to being Horsemen than Bubba Rodgers does. Kendall was teaming with Barry in early '89 during the Hiro Matsuda era, and Michael Hayes turned on Luger to join up with them briefly after they didn't play Hayes' music for the third time.
In regards to War Machine, I always thought that it was a green Leon White who went into the cage to replace J.J. for Wargames II (I could very easily be wrong on that one). Big Bubba was working mainly UWF at that point, having just lost the title to Steve Williams while being managed by General Skandar Akbar.
And, in terms of the Baron/Russians picture, one question: Where is the legendary Krusher Krushchev. Its a conspiracy against Darsow.

Yes, Bubba had recently lost the UWF title and was wrestling with UWF at that time but, remember that Crockett had recently bought the UWF. I know this because I was in the Omni for the first WarGames and many of the UWF stars were in matches that night. Sting was a UWF guy and he was in one of the first matches, as was another UWF wrestler, Chris Adams. Also, "DR. Death" Steve Williams (with Magnum TA in his corner) defended the UWF Championship that night against Dick Murdoch (with Eddie Gilbert in his corner) and UWF wrestler Rick Steiner wrestled Barry Windham.

And, Bubba was in the corner of the Midnight Express in their match vs. the Rock & Roll Express because Jim Cornette had injured his knee a week or so earlier, so I know Bubba was available to Crockett around this time. I'm fairly certain Big Bubba was the War Machine in the 2nd WarGames.

As for Krusher Kruschev, I think Baron Von Raschke was brought in to replace Darsow after Darsow either left or got injured.
