Well, glad to see the NBA's more on the ball with this sort of thing than the NFL is... the New Orleans Hornets have found a temporary home-- well, two, actually-- for the 2004-05 season. They'll play 35 games in Oklahoma City, six games in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and any home playoff games, if necessary, would be played in Oklahoma City.
To recognize what Oklahoma City's doing for the team, the NBA's official standings and statistics for this year will refer to the team as the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets, which is something I find incredibly interesting. That name is even on their website.
Good to see that the Hornets have found a couple of venues, and so close to their usual stomping grounds, too. Much better than the New Orleans Saints being made to play a "home" game against the Giants in Giants Stadium.

Considering they don't get to change divisions, they could be called the Acapulco Hornets and they still will be at the bottom of the division of death.
I think that you are all right in both conferences assuming that Detroit and San Antonio don't plow through the playoffs like they are more than capable of doing.
