Today we announced that PlayStation Home will enter into open beta, and will be available to everyone tomorrow. This milestone represents the very beginning of a long journey together, as PlayStation Home is an ever evolving, always changing, organic experience — full of new friends to meet, new events to enjoy, and new content to explore.
Emphasis added; wikipedia says work began on this as early as 2005, it was announced in March of 2007 and said to debut in September or October 2007. It's ever so late, maybe late enough to completely miss the Second Life fad. This shouldn't be a long open beta; there's previously been hints they'd be totally up by the end of the year.
I don't have a lot of enthusiasm left for this; I'm glad it's done so they can devote most of those resources elsewhere, and if I wanted to screw around talking about playing games instead of actually playing them, I'd probably just use a message board. I'm pretty sure I'll mess with it on Thursday just to see what the fuss was about, but I don't know about beyond then. I may feel differently if I knew more than 3 people who have and use this system.

"Maybe"? Ask Google how well that Lively experiment went for them ...
The most hilarious thing about Tommy Dreamer is that everyone else in WWE, from Shelton Benjamin to dudes who haven't even debuted yet, has a T-shirt available. WWE doesn't even bother printing up a T-shirt for Tommy Dreamer, A MAN WHOSE GIMMICK IS WEARING A T-SHIRT WHILE WRESTLING. And why is that? Because not a god damn person would ever pay money for a Tommy Dreamer shirt. Not even his own mother. As a result he usually ends up wearing a shirt that says "WRESTLEMANIA 24" or "JUDGEMENT DAY." I think it's time for Tommy Dreamer to just print up a T-shirt that says "UPCOMING PAY PER VIEW"
And, as far as the European release goes, it's been pretty much a catastrophe from the start. Unreliable servers, ridiculous lag. It got to the point where I had to create a US based PSN account to be guaranteed to get in there. The handle is Vik_G_Kull, since you were wondering...

It was so bad trying to get last night from a US account, I can't imagine how bad it must've been for Europe if US was better.

I was excited about the e-Reader add-on for the GBA when it first came out, because it had a ton of potential. It still does, but it's barely been used by Nintendo themselves (Clu Clu Land or Urban Champion are not what I'd call system-sellers)
