ESPN Classic's wrestling was first discussed back in January when they were airing UWF (The W).

Yep, thank you for being a master of the obvious. :-D

Saw some of the UWF and they were taping out of NY. There were some good matches too.
Though I did catch some classic AWA a couple weeks ago. The Midnight Rockers were in action.

Yea, but how many people saw White wrestle under his real name and without any mask????? He certainly was raw in that match and his microphone skills needed real work. It took the Japanese to realize the full potential of Vader. Still, it was a real treat to see Vader in his earliest matches.
I saw a very young Shawn Michaels last week on it also. His voice didn't seem to be as deep as it is today. Probably age.
And Scott Hall was on tonight's show.... when he was a tough cowboy with brown curly hair and a mustache. I remember watching him slam Jerry Blackwell two decades ago.
Tonights main event was Curt Henning vs Stan Hansen... all with Henning over-selling moves.
I also saw the UWF shows on ESPN Classic.... They were okay, I think the corny beginning intro to the show was really lame. Glad they switched to the AWA.... | Rudoublesedoublel

| #6 Posted on 2.4.08 1805.45 | Instant Rating: 4.76 | I have been DVR-ing this the last few weeks. It's cool, because I never saw much of this stuff growing up in the mid 80s, mostly just NWA and WWF. All I knew about the AWA was from PWI.
