As far as Hogan being mainstream, I'm not so sure. Not that the mainstream isn't aware of it, but the general feeling I'm getting is that people are looking at it as a joke, as in "Wrestling is soooo fake, they have an old fossil like Hogan as champion." I heard some DJ talk about how Rock must be a great actor, because he was able to have a staredown with Hogan without bursting out in laughter.
Vince didn't even wait until after the PPV to deliver the next direction change. Not sure if that is sad or not, but at this point, I guess I should expect the unexpected given Vince's desperation as of late.
