http://pwtorch.com/artman2/publish/quicknews/article_53952.shtml For those that don't know Hogan's TNA contract was coming up this month and Dixie Carter in her infinite wisdom decided to re-sign Hogan even though he's done nothing good for the company. He hasn't brought in new viewers or added to ppv buys. Hey why not pay a guy that can't wrestle yet is the focal point of your show a bloated salary? I love how when he does interviews on Good morning America or radio shows he never even mentions TNA. I'm sure Bischoff has re-signed too. Dixie is so damn clueless

Apparently, Hogan's contract was set to expire Monday, so they could have been in a situation where they spent weeks building up Sting/Hogan for the PPV...only to have Hogan bolt from the company with a week before the event.

The fact that TNA would even put themselves in that kind of scenario is just total comedy.

Do we have any idea if having Hogan in the company has made TNA's negotiations with advertisers, TV companies (domestically and internationally), and merchandisers (action figures, video games, etc) easier for them? I would not be shocked to hear that having someone with his level of name-recognition brings in a lot of revenue for them behind the scenes.

Well I can continue on with waiting for TNA to die and not watching it then. Thanks Hulkster.

There is a new video game coming out with Hogan's likeness on it, but its not TNA. I am going to take a wait and see approach to whether this was Dixie's idea or Spike saying they needed him on the show for them to keep doing it. Regardless, its a stupid move. He has brought nothing to the table minus a spike to one giant rating.. After that, its been some pretty unwatchable stuff. Maybe they had to sign him, because of BFG due to Bischoff pushing for the big Hogan match for months now in order to secure both their jobs or TNA is this stupid. The great hope for TNA fans was to get Hogan out and focusing on people like Roode, AJ, Joe, Daniels and others. Instead, its going to be more wheel chair wrestling.

To be fair, they're doing a tremendous job building up Bobby Roode the last few months. The Daniels-Styles feud has been booked very well too. Impact has been pretty good the last month to six weeks, but Hogan sticking around is still a kick to the balls.

I'm not too surprised. If Edge can't pass a physical to compete in the WWE what chance does Hogan have? I can't see Vince paying Hogan to turn up without wrestling so with that option off the table and Hogan's need to be in the spotlight TNA is the only option. Helps that it's a pretty sweet deal where he barely has to even show up half the time.

Our only hope is Hogan vs. Sting ends after BfG, and those other guys grab the bigger spotlight. I, too, am tiring of old men and drug addicts dominating TNA.

So, I amused myself today.

I searched twitter.

CM Punk
John Cena
Steve Austin
The Rock

and Hulk Hogan

Only Hogan and the Rock had references that were not wrestling centric. The Rock had three (I searched about 12 hours), Hogan had like 70. Yeah, many were silly like "my huge Hulk Hogan arms" or "out of date like a hulk hogan backpack"

But the non wrestling folks know the Hulkster

for better or worse...

I gotta disagree with you here. the 'TNA fans' seem to be the ones who want Hogan to win the belt from Sting. The TNA fans are the idiots who cheer him every time he comes out, no matter what the reason is or what he does.

Basically, the 'TNA fans' are fucking idiots.

I know the Bound For Glory PPV is here in Philly, but I was still surprised to see a big billboard with JokerSting & Hogan on the main highway through the city this morning promoting it. I don't remember ever seeing a TNA billboard before.

That's the Impact Zone, and as someone else posted, you don't always book to the live crowd. The live crowds will always cheer Hogan because he's a legend, but that doesn't mean they will pay to see him main event and wrestle.

On a postive note Bruce Pritchard is the new head of creative, which explains the much improved quality of Impact. Russo is still on the creative team, but at least he's no longer the top dog.

Was this Halloween Havoc from a released tape or was it recorded off a PPV? Would WCW actually not edit out a fan climbing the cage before releasing something like this? That would be odd...
