You could make the little NEW icon clickable or something so you wouldn't have to design a new icon even!

I'm not sure what you mean. Are you regularly marking the forum read? If so, there's already a "Show New Only" link if you're seeing all the messages in a thread - and you're free to edit your profile to show ONLY new messages.

Hmm, I'll have to play around with that. What I had in mind was a way to show all the messages but skip to the latest one. Which seems rather redundant now, I guess.

Right now when you reply to a PM, if you want to delete the original you have to reply, then you go back to the PM screen, then you have to open the old PM, THEN you an delete it.
