Take it for what its worth. According to Lords of Pain website, backstage sources believe HHH helped plan Orton's face turn at SummerSlam, because he doesn't believe can pull off being a face. So, the company will be forced to put the title back on HHH. Here is a link to the story if I missed anything. http://www.lordsofpain.net/news/2004_/articles/1093180840.php

Alright, here is my third try at replying since Ad Aware keeps shutting down my IE.

I don't buy this shit for a second.

Look, the WWE knows how far reaching the internet is to its fans. Just look at the Orton/Jindrak restaurant episode last year. And Trips surely knows how influencial the internet is. If he were trying to sabotage Orton, HE WOULD KEEP IT TO HIMSELF!

The only reason I can think of that he would tell anyone would be to sniff out an internet rat and deal with him appropriately.

Whenever people on the net don't like something the WWE does, it is either Vinces or Trips fault. And for crying out loud, we haven't SEEN ANYTHING post the Evolution beat down. Give it a fucking chance!!!!

Oh yeah, and last time I checked Vince and Trips are more successful in life than any internet writer.

WHO is speculating this? No-one backstage would dare talk about it if they had such thoughts, which basically means that it's Keller filling in his own blanks and coming up with a dumbass conspiracy theory to peddle as backstage gossip. Also, free tip-it doesn't help when you put it in a headline that reads as though it's gospel. It may seem a silly thing for me to moan about, but putting it as off-the-cuff as "HHH Sabotaging Orton's Run", without so much as a HINT that it's probably BS, only adds to these sort of things making the jump from unadulterated claptrap to God's honest truth.

Once upon a time in China, some believe, around the year one double-ought three, head priest of the White Lotus Clan, Pai Mei was walking down the road, contemplating whatever it is that a man of Pai Mei's infinite power contemplates - which is another way of saying "who knows" - when a Shaolin monk appeared, traveling in the opposite direction. As the monk and the priest crossed paths, Pai Mei, in a practically unfathomable display of generosity, gave the monk the slightest of nods. The nod was not returned. Now was it the intention of the Shaolin monk to insult Pai Mei or did he just fail to see the generous social gesture? The motives of the monk remain unknown. What is known, are the consequences. The next morning Pai Mei appeared at the Shaolin Temple and demanded of the Temple's head abbot that he offer Pai Mei his neck to repay the insult. The Abbot at first tried to console Pai Mei, only to find Pai Mei was inconsolable. So began the massacre of the Shaolin Temple and all 60 of the monks inside at the fists of the White Lotus. And so began the legend of Pai Mei's five point palm exploding heart technique.

Why the hell would Triple H sabotage his prótógé?...Trips would be getting more respect backstage because of Orton's push.

That's stupid because Triple H could have them put the title on him tommorow if he REALLY wanted to. If Triple H had given up on his big plan of headlining against Orton, he would have just whispered to Vince that Orton wasn't ready yet and they wouldn't have put the title on him in the first place.

This ranks up there pretty high on the stupidity meter. If Trip wanted the belt desperately, wouldn't his wife have used her crayon to move the belt to him during the Iron Man match against Benoit?
Now, was the face turn rushed? Yes. Should they have at least teased dissension leading up to SummerSlam if this was the way to they were going? Definitely. However, considering Trip has a long-term financial stake in the company due to his wife's stock holdings, what sense would it make to basically cut the nuts off a guy in Orton who theoretically could make him millions for years just to have a short term ego boost? It would make no sense. And, while Trip might be a stark raving egomaniac, he isn't a stupid, stark raving egomaniac.

Because lord knows there's no chance that the REALITY is more likely to be: that this isn't a face turn for Orton, but a tweener turn. We'll find out as early as tomorrow, and I think we'll see that Orton won't be a babyface. He'll be positioned mostly against heels in his matches, but won't really change his "I'm better than everyone" character.

Reports like the one posted at the top of this thread are the reason why internet writers don't have much credibility.

Hey, I just put it up there, don't come crying to me if you don't like the title of the thread. I said take it for what its worth at the start of the post, its not like the internet fans have any creditablity either since we hid behind alias and give out general opinions even though none of us have stepped in a ring or have any clue what goes on backstage. I just threw it up to start a discussion as usual someone has bitch about the littlest thing, jesus no wonder Vince writes us off as geeks.

As for as crediablity goes, the internet writers have been right the last few months ie Lita's pregency, JBL has a long term champion and Orton's title win. I wouldn't say believe everything, but damn if not over half the stuff is true. Thats a better stat that Fox News has right now.

It's definitely a face turn. I'm sure he'll still be a dick and won't do a complete 180 like John Cena (as you said), but Orton is the new top babyface.

HHH was the one who was pushing for Orton to turn right away. Logical, considering HHH books the top direction on Raw and the Orton deal is his program. It was most certainly not "mainly to ensure that his run will end in failure," especially considering HHH wants his feud with Orton to carry the company. HHH "feels WWE will have no choice but to put the World Title back on him"? HHH *is* WWE, he's the second most powerful guy in the company, so it's his choice to make.

Maybe I should just say no posting stories from newsboards or any site that isn't Observer, Torch, or PWInsider?

I don't think thats a good idea JMShapiro. Its like saying only CNN stories can be put in Politics, ESPN in Sports and USA Today in Random. I don't fully agree with the story, but saying no postings from said site gets into that grey area of full blown censorship. I know we have rules and stuff, but thats mainly for trolling and no offense to keep CRZ happy. I don't know if the story is true or not, as I didn't know if the Orton win was true or not until I saw it live. Rumors, feedback and reviews are what this board is set up for. You can't have one without the other. Because honestly, Insidepulse has better reviews if I just wanted that.

I don't buy this, because I think HHH wants to make Orton his "hoss" for when his body finally collapses and he makes another power move to become President of WWE (then, the World!)

This isn't out of the realm of absurdity, though. HHH has played with the main event scene to sabotage the reigns of others before.

When Goldberg was poised to win at SummerSlam last year, he decided to delay it another month, supposedly to build heat. Once Goldberg won, however, HHH was the only opponent he faced despite the fact that they had been building up Kane all summer. Eventually, when Goldberg finally started his feud with Kane, HHH had put himself into the feud and put the title on himself. This insured that Goldberg would never get a chance to headline against anyone else.

That's just my HHH "Conspiracy for the Day." I don't think he has done it since Goldberg, and I don't think he's doing it with Orton.

I think it'd be more like saying no citing the Nat'l Enquirer as a source in any of those folders, as there is a huge difference between the Observer/Torch/PWIns (to varying degrees of credibility) and everywhere else (which just rewrite the stories from the previous three to varying degrees of inaccuracy). All sources were not created equal, and there is a big difference.

I'm sorry for being rude before and I'm not going to prohibit anything, although stupid stuff probably should be sent to the gay area of full blown censorship.

I also added a question mark to your thread title just for my own peace of mind.

Here's the thing. The World Title is Triple H's belt, and he can do with it what he wishes. He can put that title back around his waist ANY time he wants to. There would be no reason for him to try and sabotage Randy Orton to try and convince McMahon to give him the title back. He's getting it back anyway. There'd be no reason for this.

I, too, think this is crazy ... Triple H is now a McMahon and the McMahons want what is best for the company & business. I highly doubt he'd screw that up.

Well if Lords of Pain told me I have two feet I'd question their accuracy, and I don't buy HHH sabotaging Orton for even half a second. I think it's more of him hand-picking an opponent in his quest to be Flair.

HHH has done The Wrestling Rivalry with Benoit, The Personal Rivalry with Eugene and now The Rivalry With A Young Guy with Orton. Benoit v. Steamboat holds up, Orton v. Sting holds up, but my God is Eugene a bad Terry Funk.

I thought the 2 year Michaels/Trip Feud that never ends was the personal rivalry that was (an extremely pale) version of Flair/Funk. Eugene seemed more like the Bobby Eaton feud Flair had right before he jumped ship.

I was just trying to sequence Steamboat-Funk-Sting into Benoit-Eugene-Orton. The ends hold up anyway. In that instance, Michaels would be...Dusty Rhodes?

The only problem sequencing Steamboat/Funk/Sting is that due to Sting f'ing up his knee, it really ended up being Sting/Luger/Steamboat/Funk/Luger/Sting, going from early '88 through '90. Orton might be comparable to Sting, but the scary thing is, neither Sting at that point nor Orton now would be on the level of Luger during that time period. Shows what a miracle worker Flair was at that point.

Well, Hell in a Cell is in six weeks, so that window is probably why he took the surgery now, so he could make the PPV. Knowing Cena, by this weekend he'll have decided he's good to wrestle on Raw. The prototype is a machine that doesn't break.
